I’m in a spring happy mood so I’ll give the total benefit of the doubt to upcoming MBC Wed-Thurs romance drama Spring Night. Starring Han Ji Min and Jung Hae In, the drama got a lot of attention even before their casting because it’s by the PD of Pretty Noona Buys Me Food (Something in the Rain), which catapulted Jung … Continue reading →
I have another 2019 drama to look forward to and it’s a comedic return for my beloved bae Moon Geun Young. The OG grown up child actress is returning with her first K-drama in 4 years with the tvN police procedural Catch That Ghost. It’s not a supernatural story as her character’s name Yoo Ryung is a homonym for ghost … Continue reading →
Now this is a surprising elective selection by singer-actor Park Hyung Sik. It’s been revealed that he applied for the elite Capital Defense Force of the South Korea army for his upcoming military enlistment. I’ve heard of the army, navy, air force, marines (hardest of them all), and of course public service for those who are physically unable to do … Continue reading →
The rumors are correct yet again coming from eagle-eyed C-netizens and the always gleeful to spread gossip C-news. Top married acting couple Mark Chao and Gao Yuan Yuan are indeed expecting a baby, their first child after 5 years of marriage and unending questions about when they were going to create progeny with their enviable visual genes. In March the … Continue reading →
This drama just rocketed up my to-watch and if done right can fill a void in a similar drama that is unwatchable now. KBS is prepping an early fall 2019 Mon-Tues drama adapted from a popular webtoon called Mung Bean Chronicles. I wrote about this adaptation a few months ago when it was announced and now it has a lead … Continue reading →
There is two confirmed news about Suzy, all breaking on the same Monday morning in Seoul. First confirmed news is that after leaving longtime agency JYP she has signed with SOOP Management, the same rumored agency she was headed to and the same agency as top movie star Gong Yoo and other famous stars including Gong Hyo Jin, Kim Jae … Continue reading →
The cherry blossoms are blooming and what a beautiful season to hold a wedding. The Shilla Hotel in Seoul was the site of a star-studded celebrity wedding this weekend, the marriage of singer-actress Lee Jung Hyun to her non-celebrity husband. She’s been in the industry since the late 90’s but has a rather intermittent portfolio due to taking a long … Continue reading →
Two more 87-line K-actors are coming back, and hooboy this isn’t the best time to return to K-ent what with the fire power of scandal swirling around. Lee Min Ho and Ji Chang Wook enlisted within days of each other and both will be discharged at the end of April 2019. Ji Chang Wook served in the army performing arts … Continue reading →
The week marked the start of the end of the 30-year run Heisei era in Japan with the announcement of the next era name of Reiwa, with the current Emperor abdicating and passing the throne to the Crown Prince. Heisei was preceded by Showa which remains the longest era in Japanese history of 63 years. Still, 30 years is quite … Continue reading →
The Be Like Taecyeon model behavior in the army has it’s first successor. Actor-idol Yoon Doo Joon has been serving his military enlistment in army active duty since August 2018 when he was rather abruptly hauled off even before his drama shooting for Let’s Eat 3 wrapped. He’s been quietly and dutifully doing his civic duty and apparently quite well … Continue reading →
At this point basically any male star who is friends in real life with singer Jung Joon Young should just turn themselves in. The investigation into the sharing of hidden camera sex videos and pictures of women started by Jung Joon Young through various text chat groups has broadened to include singer Eddy Kim. He joins earlier this week reveal … Continue reading →
I envisioned an actual physical Abyss that would transform the visuals of the two leads in the upcoming tvN fantasy K-drama. Who figured it would instead be the Eye of Sauron in crystal ball form, contained easily in a wooden box. Man those humans, elves, and hobbits had it hard back then. The first teasers are out for Abyss and … Continue reading →
Screenwriter Baek Mi Kyung has an incredible track record so far and her next drama will take her to a new network and back to cable. She cemented her drama success with three jTBC dramas My Love Eun Dong, Strong Woman Do Bong Soon, and Women of Dignity. Then she moved to KBS with the critically acclaimed The Miracle We … Continue reading →
