The first stills are out for upcoming romance sageuk A King Loves, which true to it’s title is based on a novel all about said king’s love for a woman. Maybe there’s the typical palace and power play intrigue involved but all I see in the synopsis is a love triangle set in period garb. Starring Im Shi Wan and … Continue reading →
January was a stellar month for Hyun Bin as his 2017 is off to a box office hit start thanks to the success of North-South Korean cop movie Cooperation (Confidential Assignment). He must have liked working with Cooperation director Kim Sung Hoon because Hyun Bin’s next acting project will be to reunite with the director for another thriller movie. This … Continue reading →

There’s more bad news on the health front, a week after K-actress Moon Geun Young was rushed to surgery for compartment syndrome in her arm and had to cancel all her stage performances. K-actor Yoo Ah In has been diagnosed during health checkups for his impending military service with having a bone tumor. It is yet unclear if the tumor … Continue reading →
A new Song Joong Ki pictorial that drops on Valentine’s Day feels intentional but wholly appreciated. He’s basically stormed to the top of the popularity charts last year in 2016 thanks to playing the dreamboat perfect boyfriend character in Descendants of the Sun. He is charming and funny, and can shoot bad guys on a dime and jump off airplanes … Continue reading →
The confident ratings stride upward for SBS Mon-Tues drama Defendant doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon. After episode 7 on Monday broke the 20% ratings mark to reach 20.9%, the following day episode 8 rose another 1.3% to end this week’s episodes at 22.2% AGB nationwide ratings. This is beyond impressive as the successful SBS Mon-Tues dramas last … Continue reading →
The return of old-school Hallyu stars Lee Young Ae and Song Seung Heon unfortunately hasn’t translated into a ratings win, but that doesn’t mean drama fans aren’t open to some of the first or second generation Hallyu stars returning to drama land. Gong Yoo‘s return in Goblin was a huge win and also a wonderful reminder of the incredible acting … Continue reading →
There’s someone for everyone and that goes for dream dates as well as real ones. A recent poll on Korea asked thousands of women who they wanted to go on a Valentine’s Day date with and the results match the current It Men dominating the popularity polls. Leading the way was the lonely and shining goblin himself Gong Yoo, with … Continue reading →

There are some actors or actresses that elicit a meh response whenever I hear they are cast in a drama or movie. Choi Kang Hee is one of them and honestly it’s not because she’s a bad actress. It’s due to her owning the quirky field and being so hard to cast right, I loved her in Protect the Boss … Continue reading →
It’s mostly a miss for for me in overall look that Suzy sported for her solo album fan meeting this week in Seoul. Her hair looks awkwardly mussed and the black and white Catholic school uniform with Mary Janes dulls her down considerably. What is interesting is how much she resembles a cross between IU and Han Hyo Joo in … Continue reading →
After a recent bout with fashion faux pas, it’s nice to see Hyun Bin snappily dressed again for his media press gauntlet to promote K-movie Cooperation. With Gong Yoo hitting drama daebak with Goblin, I find myself wishing Hyun Bin can reunite with Kim Eun Sook again and this time do a male lead that is memorable and doesn’t flirt … Continue reading →
I’ve got no regrets over Kim Woo Bin‘s last drama Uncontrollably Fond, the pre-produced high profile KBS drama last summer costarring Suzy and written by famed screenwriter Lee Kyung Hee. The last two episodes made it for me, redeemed the previous eighteen episodes filled with nuggets of goodness wrapped in inconsistent wrapping. To this day I can rewatch the last … Continue reading →
