I get super curious whenever a big K-drama starts casting and the interest is exponentially multiplied if one of the leads is cast first and is someone I love. Such is the case with Kill Me Heal Me that is likely going to star Lee Seung Gi. The drama is too close to filming for yet another public meltdown with … Continue reading →
I feel myself so close to the precipice when it comes to Pinocchio. My interest and affection for this drama is on the edge of tumbling down the abyss of addiction, a sweet free fall sensation of giddiness and anticipation that hurts so good. The drama is certainly doing everything it can to hook me good and tight. The newly released drama … Continue reading →
Pinocchio rolls right into episode 3 with nary a slowdown from the fantastic first two episodes. Lead chemistry? Check. Interesting story? Check. Fluid directing and lovely acting? Check and check. There isn’t a single thing to find fault with this drama unless one really wants to nitpick, and right now I’m in a non-nitpicky mood. When a story cohesively works … Continue reading →
Yoon Sang Hyun is one of those rare K-drama leading men that got his big break late in his career. That’s now even harder to come by considering the penchant for flower boys in the industry and very young leading men thrust into playing older roles all the time. Yoon Sang Hyun is now 41 year old and his big … Continue reading →
It’s such a relief that promos for upcoming KBS drama Healer continue to look fantastic. The drama was announced and cast relatively early, with respect to how frequently K-dramas come down to the wire, and having that head start ought to be reflected in the quality. So far it definitely looks it, the first video teaser and now the just … Continue reading →
Looks like Kim Bum‘s career transition over to Chinese entertainment is in for the long haul. His first forays into the industry have been well-received all things considering, whether it’s a supporting role in the Young Detective Dee movie or as part of the modern romance drama compendium V Love. He’s been in China since late summer filming the C-romance … Continue reading →
The dual red hot popularity of Kim Soo Hyun and Lee Min Ho came to a head this week and sent the K-ent media into a tizzy for showing up at the same place. Both attended the 2014 South Korean Popular Culture and Arts Awards and made it a rare appearance at the same event. They even received the same … Continue reading →
The upcoming tvN drama Heart to Heart is going to have huge shoes to follow coming right after the highly rated and critically well-received Misaeng airing on Fri-Sat nights. At least the drama has finished casting the main leads and it’s a mixed bag for sure. Choi Kang Hee has been signed on since the project was first announced but … Continue reading →
Another reason I’m so happy Pinocchio is off to a promising start is to have another potential crack drama to rev up the joint. I love the feeling of loving a drama, all anticipation over new stills and translating written previews, the very essence of a drama fan being able to actually fangirl. It might not last but I still eagerly … Continue reading →
Holy smokes! Lee Seung Gi for Kill Me Heal Me? Shit, now I’m going to have to watch this drama, trainwreck potential be damned. I’ve been keeping a close eye on KMHM because it was supposed to have started filming already for a January 2015 air date following Mr. Back (Mr. Baek) on MBC Wed-Thurs. This drama has gotten way … Continue reading →
After the smackdown C-writer Tong Hua delivered to sleazy idea-stealing C-producer Yu Zheng last summer over the concept of an early Republic era military academy drama, both sides simmered down and I didn’t hear anything else about it. That’s why I was totally surprised to come across early filming pictures this week from the drama set, making me realize that … Continue reading →
Pinocchio is one of those dramas where there are multiple angles for drama viewers to check it out. There are Park Shin Hye fans hoping she can silence her critics and wash away some of the stupor of Heirs, there are Lee Jong Seok fans praying he’s back to fine form after straying into Dr. Stranger crazyville, and finally there … Continue reading →
When the J-dorama gods giveth they are oh so generous. And a bit piling on with so much coming at the same time. I’ve been following two J-doramas this season, both packed with some of my favorite actors and actresses wrapped in great storytelling. One of them is Nobunaga Concerto with Oguri Shun, Shibasaki Kou, Mukai Osamu, and Fujiki Naohito. … Continue reading →
