Oh My Ghost Adds Im Joo Hwan, Kwak Si Young, and Park Jung Ah to the Already Awesome Cast

YES! I don’t know who to thank for this casting perfection but you have my deepest gratitude. Upcoming tvN drama Oh My Ghost¬†finished casting this week with quite a flourish, rounding out the cast not with big flashy names but with genuine talent that is a pleasure to watch onscreen. That’s the opinion for me at least, but honestly this cast is hard to argue as untalented. Joining already signed on Park Bo Young, Jo Jung Seok, and Kim Seul Gi are two actors firmly in my to-watch column – Im Joo Hwan¬†ditched the dreadful locks of Shine or Go Crazy behind to romance Park Bo Young as the second male lead, while rising young actor Kwak Si Yang (recently the male lead of Persevere Gu Hae Ra) gets a supporting role but my money is on it being memorable even with less screen time. Love both dudes, all in all this drama is on the money with the casting already, now the pressure is on not to screw up the writing or directing.

There was another quiet addition to this drama in addition to Im Joo Hwan and Kwak Si Yang, former girl group Jewelry member turned actress Park Jung Ah is also confirmed for the drama. If Park Bo Young is the cute style and Kim Seul Gi owns the quirky charm, then Park Jung Ah will clearly bring the va-va-voom to the proceedings. I’m already squeeing over all the hilarious hijinks to come as Kim Seul Gi’s man-crazy female ghost possesses the body of guy shy Park Bo Young.

  1. Ooooh this is such good news. Please let this be the crack drama I’ve been missing since I don’t even know when..

  2. Aw, I love Im Joo-hwan! And this is actually a reunion of sorts because Jo Jung-seok and Im Joo-hwan were in What’s Up together, only in that Im Joo-hwan was the first lead. Though that drama was more of an ensemble drama anyway. I do hope to see him return to first lead roles soon, but for now I’m just happy to see him returning in a drama I’m looking forward to.

  3. Wow, now that is a cast i like.
not trying to be mean but now i prefer Im joo hwan as main lead. already sad for him he won’t get the girl again hehe /: his role in SOGC was pretty bland but i know he’s a talented actor.
so Kim seul gi is going to be the ghost? ha, can’t wait for that. for sure it will be funny!

  4. OMG! This looks sooooooooo daebak! (Don’t get your hopes up, I keep telling myself.) But seriously! AWESOME! But when will poor Im Joo Hwan get to go back to leading man territory?

  5. OMG how do I choose between Jo Jung Seok and Im Joo Hwan?! I feel this drama’s going to give me a serious case of shipping whiplash. Can’t wait!!!

  6. I LOVED High School King of Savvy!! One of my favorites of all time. I thought the writing and humor were so unique to k-dramas. This sounds like a great follow up. Hoping it has the same feel!

  7. Will closely follow up because of Jo Jung Seok. I think actors with extensive musical stage experience usually ended up doing great jobs on TV dramas such as Kang Ha Neul and Ji Chang Wook. These stage actors seem to be able to communicate subtle emotions better. Of course Jo Jung Seok is among these fine actors. He was very fun to watch and had an aura of amusing humor in You’re the Best Lee Sung Shin……I’ve expected to see him more since that drama. Now here we go. Thank you Ockoala!
