Goes to show what a good role can do in changing impressions. Nam Joo Hyuk is doing just swell in the cast of Cheese in the Trap, not as much as Seo Kang Joon is changing impressions in his second male lead role, but enough to not continue to disappoint as a lump of coal. It’s actually good enough to give me some comfort that he may deliver in the upcoming role of rebellious and sensitive 13th Prince in the K-version of Bu Bu Jing Xin. I’ve always had a soft spot for him, whatever his limitations or the detractors in Who Are You: School 2015, he’s one of those lunky actors that may not be naturally gifted but is easy to watch onscreen with a sweet simple presence. His latest spread in Dazed showcases a playful vibe that extends from his Cheese character, and hopefully onto his K-BBJX character.
