About

I’m a Koala. Who has opposable thumbs and can type. Come by and visit anytime. If I think of something interesting, I just might write about it.

I am O. C. Koala (not pronounced as one word) – and kinda like it when people call me Koala or Mz. Koala or Your Koala Highness.  😛

If you want to send me a private message, you can email me at: ockoala1@gmail.com

I can’t promise that I will respond, but I will try my best. ^__^

  1. OMG, doozy, I love it! And I am so grateful and speechless with the gift you bestowed on me! I will definitely make it my banner (once I figure out how to do it). Thank you from the bottom of my heart! Your present is mch appreciated.

  2. *blush with embarrassment*
You’re welcome! sorry the picture wasn’t of better quality but I’m so glad you like the banner. 🙂

  3. Heyyyyyyyyy I think I’ve seen you arouwwwnd…. lulz

ockoala + own blog + regular belly-rubbing from thundie + droolworthy header c/o doozy (!!!) = spectacular, spectacular!!!

congratulations on your new “baby” 😀 and I can’t wait to link you up!

  4. @ doozy

Better quality? *Any* picture of my Jung Woo Sung is perfect quality. The smidge of fuzziness only makes me squint to look at him better. Or get really close to the screen. Either way, I love it!

    @ Ender’s Girl

I had this poor ole wordpress account opened so I can write for Thundie, and after awhile I got bored with staring at its blankness. Voila, random dribbles start coalescing and forming coherent sentences and here I am, blogging about really whatever I want. Now that is freedom, baby! Not like being in her Thundie Majesty’s employ (*cough* servitude *cough*). 😀 Kidding, I give her my left kidney. But not my right one, I have a special relationship with that one.

  5. Found you here. I’m so delighted. Keep on writing girl, I’ll read anything you write and that’s a promise.

  6. Hi there, just want to drop a note to say ‘Hi and great work!”. I have just started a similar site and love your posts. Look forward to read more of your work. alou 🙂

    • Thank you, wiggles! The PK header you gifted me is gorgeous! I love it. I may have to put my Jung Woo Sung back when Athena premieres, but until then, I am proud to show off PK and your handiwork at APK. *HUGS*

    • AHHH!!! I love it! *I dies*

I will unveil this when my honey comes back to the small screen in December. *incoherent squealing now*

Thank you again, wiggles. You are such a sweetheart.

    • haha thanks Wiggles!! I really like yours too!! It’s a lot more colorful than mine. I will have a lot to learn! ^_^ Which software do you use to make the banner? I’m yet to learn how to make it interactive 😀 (we should have a club here ^_^)

      • You’re welcome! (:
Vorticella, I use cs3. I’m hoping to get the new photoshop though. haha.
I just browse the web for tutorials and find what I like and then intepret it in my own designs.
(: You can do that too! It’ll be helpful. (I agree! we should. haha)

      • sweet! ^_^ I’m just a novice in banner making. Maybe we can start w/ that. Just develop a Koala Banner Making Club. *obviously members will be the two of us* and hopefully the varieties will be enough for Koala to sample them throughout the winter time 😀

      • ^_^ you have our supports. I really love reading your recaps. They are filled with thoughts and emotions that are relatable. This makes watching the drama a lot more meaningful. But most importantly, you’ve dedicated your specious time to write and spoil us. What else could we do but just feed you (so you can continue to do what we love :P). So Thanks!!!

Just a quick question, is here the best way for us to send you our banner? or do you have a preferred email address that you would want us to send to?

I think if you could make the banner rotate, you might not have to do them by hand => more time to write/recap/ and keep baby koalas happy 😀

      • lol alright (: I agree with Vorticella. It’ll be easier for you if you did something like rotating headers instead of cropping the image and putting it up. But it’s up to your preferences. ^-^ either way, you can still share what your creative readers/fans made for you. <3

      • Koala

is there a specific dimension that you use? We’ve been making it but unsure about the dimension. it will ease your workload a bit more ^_^

      • vorticella

Headers of 940 × 198 pixels will be used as is, otherwise it crops for me automatically. Everything you guys have sent fits perfectly! It’s a match made in Koala heaven.

I’m coding to do the rotating headers. Hopefully it’ll be up soon.

  7. hi Koala, just wanna tell you that your K-drama blog is fantastic – you’re really an expert on K-drama. thanks for the great work!

  8. I never join blogs but when I found yours after I discovered K dramas this past Aug, I became your constant reader. Your page is bookmarked as one of my favorites and I view twice a day!
Thank you for MMM recaps, reviews and news. Please keep up the great work that you do.

  9. Dear Koala, would you help me out? I’ve been wanting to know whether Ha Ji Won was a beauty queen. I’ve searched Wikipedia and Dramawiki but it doesn’t mention anything about beauty pageants so is it safe to assume that she’s not a beauty queen?

    • Oops, been traveling so just got around to answering your question. As far as I know, HJW is not a former beauty queen. The only former beauty queens I know about are Park Shi Yeon and Lee Da Hae.

  10. Thank you for your write ups. I wonder if you work on any media-related companies, or any network there in Korea, or you just write! Anyhow, you’re writing skills are excellent, I could barely imagine what’s really happening in the episodes. Keep it up Koala. 🙂

  11. Dear Koala, Felt so extremely horrible for calling you “OCKOALA” and did even typed them all in capital letters. Was not aware of the fact that you dont want to be called that way 🙁 (Now im more afraid to even mention it) not until I’ve able to read this section of your website. Pls accept my apology. Peace!!

  12. Heyyy ockoala

i really really like your website and you’re truly wonderful at translations. I just read the song of ep 7 of MSOAN and i thought you found the lyrics somewhere but then i read it again and saw that you had translate them. Wow my respects!!!! And whenever i think the subs of MSOAN and SG are strange/incorrect i read your recaps and then i fully understand. you also write down your own thoughts about the drama and that;s something i really appreciate.

o and finally i found something really interesting on internet:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9hH_XHo8Jdc

it’s a interview with geun and geun and funny bts. also the four leads are playing that game when they are drinking at MK housewarming (when they put down their finger whenever the asked question is true )

i thought maybe you could translate it? because it seems really interesting.

anyway thank u very much for your recaps!!!!!!

    a lot of greeting,

    Marie

  13. Hi ockoala,
I am so glad I found your blog…what can I say, it keeps me going when I’m in between episodes. It’s like a support group, I felt so alone with my addiction before finding you. Love the PK link….I can’t get over how hot KHJ is.
Thanks again. Love all the news and the OSTs for M3.

  14. Hi ockoala! De-lurking to extend my heartfelt “thank you” for creating such a fun and friendly playground for drama lovers to hang out. I may not comment much, but always swing by at least twice a day to see what kind of treats you have for us. Cheers!

  15. Firstly, thanks for a great site……..curious…..why Koala? Being an Aussie, the name caught my attention straight away…..and now I am glad it did, as I really enjoy your recaps of “Mary Stayed Out All Night”.
    Thanks a bunch 🙂

  16. hi ockoala,

im just taking a moment to de-lurk to say thank you for an awesome site. I’ve been visiting your blog for the past few months and it has been always a treat to read your recaps. It sure adds a whole lot of flavor to my drama viewing.

im also sharing your love obsession with Mary Stayed Out All Night and it has actually compelled me enough to de-lurk and now I’m M3 obsessed enough to do some M3 based-artwork.

anyway, here’s a little token of thanks for taking time to share your talent and making drama viewing all the more enjoyable..

hope you enjoy these M3 headers =)

    Purple/Pink – Mu Gyul and Mae-Ri

Grungy – Mu Gyul and Mae-Ri

Sepia Memories – Mu Gyul and Mae-Ri

Snapshots – Mu Gyul and Mae-Ri

    I know I’m totally shipping MG-MR, but here’s a little love for bone-melting handsome KJW…

Hazy Memories – Jung In and Mae-Ri

    • Thank you, Purplewildcat. For delurking to chat with me, and for taking the time and effort to make these banners. I love them!!! Will be adding them to the rotation. Please join the discussion anytime you feel like. Which I hope is more often than not. 😀

      • Thank you PurpleWildCat. It’s always great to learn from one another. ^_^ Welcome to the Koala banner club!!

PS: I’m planning to do a M3 marathon this weekend. Been so caught up w/ things that never completely focus my attention to complete the episodes ^_^

  17. Help!
I’m currently into J-doramas and want to find a site as awesome as Dramabeans to give me updates on what’s going on in J-dorama land. Although this is just a side obssession of mine brought about by watching “Tatta Hitotsu no Koi” which I totally enjoyed. Thanks to your recommendation ockoala.
I’ve watched Gokusen, Hana Yori, and a bunch of others it didn’t hook me as THnK did, it was too cartoony for my taste. I’m going to watch Buzzer Beater next, after that Yamada Tar and then last Minami-Kun no Koibito. I’m iffy on the last two dramas.
I love reading your site, you and Dramabeans are my top 2 in my favorite list and I just finished reading both year end review. Totally different perspective but very enlightening. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and rants, now if I could have another site showcasing J-doramas I will have my top 3 fav site.

  18. Hi Koala, I just wanted to say thank you for the awesome website you’ve created. it changed the way I enjoy K-drama to the next level.
Thank you so much and have a great year ahead… Happy New Year!!

  19. Your Koala Highness
Just a short note that your laborious hours in bringing about the latest news on Geun2 and MP has been much appreciated. Thanks for cheering up my day with the bestest and the latest of Kdrama..
    Domo Arigato..
    Cheers to a good day…
    sincerely….

  20. hi there! can i post without bringing gifts? i’m too lazy to make banners, lol.
anyway, thanks for the recaps, i really appreciate it…i knew about your blog in soompi.
    more power and keep writing!

  21. Hi ockoala, I’m beginning to like you now. I’ve read some of your recaps of Kdrama and loved it. If you need any..anything for the baby koala to feed him just shout out and we will come for the rescue. I enjoyed so much in your playground. God Bless!

  22. Hi Your Koala Highness,

I don’t know why I only visited this part just now. I just found out that I’ve always addressed you wrongfully. Geez, so sorry about that. =)

  23. Hi Ms. Koala,

Just want to say “Thank You!” for the very lovely banner we have today — our favorite Geun-Geun couple in saeguk costumes! 🙂

    Have a good day!

  24. Dear ockoala,

Thank you so much for the Discussion Forum on Geun-Guen couple .
From the very first day of its post, I have looked forward seeing the pictures of our favorite Geun-Geun couple and reading the comments. As time goes by, I find it exciting to see the number of comments in the Forum go up almost by the hour.

But as the number of comments increase, the waiting time for the Forum page to display has also increased. At first, I immediately attributed it to my computer being old and my slow internet connection. Then I did a quick research and found this website:

    wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-paginate

It appears there is a “plug-in” that can group and display comments in pages. I’m not familiar with this “plug-in” but if comments are grouped in pages and only one page of comments is made active at a time, then it may speed up the display of the Forum page. I’m also not sure if this plug-in is compatible with your blog’s underlying sofware.

Perhaps you are already looking into this or is considering to implement one. If so, thank you.

In the meantime, I’ll continue to visit and enjoy AKP and the Discussion Forum daily.
And if I can be of help in implementing the above plug-in even though I have no “wordpress” experience, please feel free to let me know.

Again thank you for the awesome Discussion Forum on Geun-Guen couple ! 🙂

    • Sadly I can’t do any modifications or plugins because I’m on a wordpress.com account. 🙁

Lemme see what other options I have. Thanks for letting me know. Much appreciated!~

      • Hi Captain ockoala,

        You’re welcome…And it’s okay…Will still love the awesome Discussion Forum… 🙂 Have a good evening!

  25. Dear Ockoala,

Thank you for always putting up the most juicy up to date info. I’ve been watching K-drama since I stumbled upon it last yr and went into full blown marthon mode of some of the classics. I have realized since then that I have an addiction. I came across your site over the summer and now I must come to you blog at least twice a day to get the newest info (although honestly it’s much more than that-#2 on most viewed lol).

Although this is my first time writing, due to your blog I don’t feel like i’m going through this addiction alone (my friends just dont get it lol). A special thanks to all the info on Playful Kiss (still want more…might watch over) and Mary Stayed Out All Night (Team Geun-Geun all the way). Currently, loving Dream High. You have added to my excitement, angst and eveything in between in regard to dramas.

Thanks again for keeping this Lonely Bostonian from being oh so lonely.

  26. Hello Captain!
Thank you so much for allowing us to indulge in our obssession!
I was wondering is there a way to send you any PMs? I’d like to ask you something. Promise it’s nothing crazy and very much related to our GeunGeun couple!
ooking forward to hearing from you!

  27. Hello Koala!

I love JGS alot and i’m soo happy that he’s coming to Singapore!
Btw, can i ask how do u order his album online? I tried looking for it but i cant find the link! you mind giving me instructions on how to buy? Thanks alot !!!

  28. Thanks for the banner. I am really rooting for this couple (NMW & LMJ). I must have miss-read your post and thought you were going to recap. Silly me.

  29. Hi: Your Royal Koalaness:

I was wondering if you ever watched East of Eden. I know from reading your blog that you’re a fan of SSH, but wondered if you watched East of Eden and if you did, your thoughts on it.

I became a recent fan through My Princess and immediately went to watch EofE. And I have to say that I really enjoyed it. Watching it all at once (and skipping the boring parts) allowed me to be a lot more forgiving towards it as I know that many had lots of criticisms toward it. And seriously, how can you not love the DC-YR pairing?

I know it’s a long one to recap but even a summary with your thoughts on it would be really appreciated. Personally, what I still can’t figure out is: (1) what was the relationship between Janice and Shin Tae Hwan and how exactly did he betray her when they were young? and (2) Was Janice actually the one that got Mike killed?

  30. Hi Koala! (: I wanted to share this clip with you. Hope you enjoy it. ;D
    it’s a Kdrama Spoof.

    • I was like how tragic, and then, OMG he isn’t going to sacrifice his *inky winy* for her! LOL

I laugh madly, thanks!! You make my day!!

  31. Your Koala Highness,
A Koala’s Playground has given me reams of mindless entertainment. For that, I am eternally grateful. You’re like one of those quirky characters that pops off the page… if you were to be written into a piece of fanfiction, who’d be the star you’d fall in love with?
    -Kayohs

  32. Hi… Koala Ssi…
    Annyeong haseyo…. 🙂
    I’m still waiting your recap… absolutely.. 49 days… 🙂
    I’m from Indonesia… Nice to meet you… ^^

  33. Do you have twitter account that linked to this website? So, if you post something new I will know about it asap. Thank you so much 🙂

  34. Hi Koala,

I so love you recaps and your passion for K and T dramas. Let me know how I can subscribe. Aja! Fighting! 🙂 Thank you for putting an effort on this. I check the website all the time and it makes me smile. Chia yo!

  35. hi,

i have a question for you since you seem to know all about the current dramas. i just finished watching Love Buffet and there was a preview for a drama that came out on 3/20. do you know which one it is?? i couldn’t figure it out if it was on mysoju, it looked interesting.

    thanks!

  36. Hey Koala! I was reading through Tokyohive, the japanese component to Allkpop for Japanese news and I found something that was interesting. They are planning to remake You’re beautiful into a Japanese version with Johnny’s Jr. Talents as the 3 lead guys. I’m sending you the link here.. http://www.tokyohive.com/2011/05/takimoto-miori-and-johnnys-idols-to-star-in-japanese-remake-of-youre-beautiful/

I read this news yesterday and LOL.. just thought you’d like the tidbit!

Thanks for your hard work on posting.. will keep reading as always!.

  37. hi ms koala…

i love this site, so in-depth recapping *thumbs up*

i’m currently connected with darksmurfsub.com, we are a fan subbing site, we do community translated subbing. we usually offer the fastest subs, due to the concerted efforts of the members. i trying to connect with you to ask if it will be ok with you for us to post links once the subs are out for the latest airing dramas.

thank you so much for considering us. komawo!

  38. Dear Ms Koala

I’ve noticed your superb ability to find/dig up interesting informations. Am wondering if I might be able to enlist your help in finding download links to a couple of songs off a TWdrama? The drama is 寶島少女成功記 and the songs are 一直/范逸臣and 红布条 – 天堂. I’ve been looking for some time now with no luck. I think it’s my rusty Chinese combine with my next to nothing computer knowledge hampering my search. Thanks in advance. BTW love all your goodies and keep up the great work.

  39. Miss Koala,

im wondering if you know…there’s actually gonna be a remake of You’re Beautiful in Japan…this summer.

  40. Hello Ms. Koala,
I’m from soompi.com and would like to have a chance to talk with you! Please, email me at my email addy that should show up for you? If not, please reply!

    • Let me guess…. hmmmm….mmmmm… aaahhhh……..I knew the country… let met see… uuummmmm…. ah, Australia? 😉

      • Awww… that’s too bad. I thought we could be neighbors! You and your koala babies on top of the eucalyptus tree; My kiwi chicks and I under the burrow 🙂

        Loving your recaps though!

  41. just discovered your blog when looking for LTM recaps. i love your humour 🙂

where are you from if you’re a koala, if not australia – i say hi from the other side of the world: the UK

  42. Dear Ockoala,

I meant to write you an e-mail, been a reader of your blog since PK days and I really appreciate everything that you do. It takes my k-drama watching experience to a new level, reading your thoughts and other people’s comments. Your playground is so much fun!

Do you mind sending me your email addy? My avatar links to my blog. Or you can also send it to oalpuerto(at)yahoo(dot)com. Thanks! 🙂

  43. Hey Mz. Koala,

I really enjoy reading your posts 🙂
um… how many languages do you know and are you korean? 🙂

  44. Many people have thanked you in many ways, but i wanted to be the addition to the list.

I am a non-korean but an avid watcher of Korean drama. Not being able to understand crucial dialgoues with the sub-titles is a killer when watching raw videos. Your recaps are life savers.

    • Am in US too!! Hello neighbour. Thanks to Hulu many of us here are exposed to Korean drama and addicted as caffine.

  45. hi..mz koala. am from indonesia. nice to read your recaps.its make me know how k-drama.its very diferent from the indonesian drama.thank for the recaps… gumawo…

  46. Mz. Koala,

I came across your site when I was eagerly looking for previews on Sunny Happiness before. Now I’m an official addict to your site. Just want to thank you for your time and effort in providing this playground for us. Much appreciated. Your writing and insights are marvelous with humor. Thank you again!

  47. Hi, Koala

I’m from Malaysia, I’m also one of the k-drama fans. After watching LTM I found your blog which is very interesting! I love all your recaps and must read everyday…especially those romance and comedy dramas. Appreciated much for your effort!

  48. I log on to your blog to see what new updates you will spoil us with, so many times in one day that I have stopped keeping count ….lol
    and today was no different….
But each time today, even after I was every much sure that I was on the right blog, my mind kept telling wrong blog….lol because your words keep jumping off the screen in a large blinding scream demanding to be heard….( as if you weren’t being heard before) lol
But I love it, I love that your words have taken on a life of its own and that it demands to be heard.!!!
Any way I wanted to tell you thank you.
Thank you for all the updates and recaps, for your long hours and opposable thumb….. Thank you !!!!!

  49. I can see this a website somewhat like dramabeans and what i love is that you dont do just KDramas recaps. I love that you taiwan ones, which are hard to find. But lately it seems as though its a “Lie to Me” blog rather then a “All Dramas” recap blog. You used to recap “Drunken to love you” in a day and now it takes longer. I know its a tough job but it would be great to see your opinions besides “Lie to Me” ones.

  50. Ockoalaaaa !!! i found a new drama its seemed really reaallly good and fun its with kim joon hyun (goong) and with the girl frm prosecutor princess
haha so gooooood . im so happy i missed him so much and his last drama was so not good but this one “I need romance”

  51. Agree with Shash’V. Have seen two Eps. of I Need Romance on Dramafever and it’s a lot of fun…any chance to recap and/or comment? It seems like a breath of fresh air compared to some I’ve seen recently.

  52. Love all your recaps but most of all your thoughts on each episode which most of the time somehow coincide with my thoughts and I say “my thoughts exactly”. Thanks for all your efforts to bring us these recaps. Are ypou not watching Pretty Young woman (jang Nara)? I like her too.

  53. Hello Mz. Koala, I came across your blog last week because of my LTM madness and omg…. you’re a genious!!!! I like so much your thoughts and your recaps. It’s my first time reading recaps. Thanks for putting so much effort on this blog. I greatly commend you. Godbless 🙂

  54. Hi Koala,

I chanced upon your site last week while I was in a LTM craze (still am) and I love your witty comments and humour.
Thank you for all the effort. It must be your full time job managing this site.

P.S: I realise you have FOL on your top 10 Kdrama and I was whooping with joy! Its my of my fav and I hardly see anyone recommending it. ^_^

  55. Hi Koala,

I am a scientist who is crazy about drama. They are good for my soul and they make me happy. Reading your review makes me happy especially when I don’t understand Korean. I am used to all the technical analysis and readings but your blog is such a great read that I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

  56. Hi Koala,

I love to read your blog especially the k-drama LTM, i now re watch it every night and always stay in your playground almost everyday when I have nothing much to do during my office hours. Hehehe, I also wish the OTP can be real in life. BTW are you korean or american chinese, can i make friend with you, mind you? Best regards!

  57. I don’t know where to start at first i browse at DB but after i read negative comments there re LTM i gave that up and found u instead isn’t that a blessing now i’m always park at this payground and im having a ball I always always read ur recaps, etc esp LTM you have such a way with words most of the time it left me speechless and say aha!!!! that’s it – I just want to say ur awesome for sharing with us ur time, knowledge and talent for writing, and most of all ur generosity of heart and much much more ur one of a million God Bless You and may u always be there for us – Kdrama fanatics and addicts esp LTM HwanHye lovers all the best………..

  58. Hi Ms. Koala, I had a question because I have been watching Smile, You and am emotionally charged. My question if you would help, this is only drama, Korean society is not really like this drama, right? Anyway, thank you for having this blog, whether you answer me or not, because that felt good to release. I am such a masochist but I have to see the story through. Talking with a therapist next. LOL.

    • Smile, You is pure entertainment with very cartoonish parental figures. It’s nothing like normal Korean society. It’s like watching the gang from Dallas and wondering if maybe all Americans are like that. Or the Glee kids and thinking that’s a reflection of high school life in the US.

95% of K-dramas have little to no resemblance to the average Korean person and behavior. If you ever want to watch a K-drama that tries to depict regular Koreans and their mundane but interesting interactions, let me know and I can recommend some. But for the most part, everything you see in K-dramas is purely scripted entertainment.

SY is a very bad offender. It’s like finding the four worst parents in all of Korea, and then putting them in one show. All the hitting and screeching gave me a headache. I really didn’t like the drama, only watched it to the end for Jung Kyung Ho and his chemistry with Lee Min Jung. I wanted to shove her in a toilet for the first few episodes she was so annoying. Thankfully she calmed down and her performance was really lovely by the end.

      • Thank you for your very informative answer. I finished watching it yesterday. I had to pause so many times that the last five episodes took two days to watch. This wasn’t the best that I have seen but the story was great and yes LMJ and JKH had crazy chemistry. I agree that in the beginning I dislike the LMJ character so much, I almost started disliking the actress but that is great acting if you get me to believe that you really are like that.

  59. hi koala… i’ve been following you and your recaps for a while now… and i wass wondering if you are korean?…cuz even in chinese subs, they come out at least 10hrs after aired time and by that time, you’ve already written recaps… T T LOL so yeah i was just wondering if ever your not korean, where do you watch it 🙂

  60. I started reading…

and I realized the writing seemed familiar…

    …i know that writing…

    OCKOALA???

    *HUG*

When did you get all k-drama-bloggy?

    • Uhhh, it happened sometime between when you went AWOL and when you stumbled out of the woods after a one year sleep covered in twigs and leaves asking what the heck was a Secret Garden and who the heck got a girlfriend that was a Gumiho.

As for why? Because you weren’t around to play with me. *sobs* Or more likely I just had an urge and I indulged myself. 😀

      Hugs back, dude!

  61. Love your new look sis! Clean and Cool! Please continue the way you are, always giving us the fastest news and the crumbs and tidbits you can get to whet our drama appetites. I am also most thankful to you for featuring, STILL, SMW, even with those ungrateful nuts writing nega you’ve mentioned previously. They are not just worth your time. We are always here to support you.

    Your forever fan, sistah!

    nonski

  62. Koala, I’m going to go out on a limb and say I find the bluish new layout difficult visually as well. This time because it’s very busy. The paragraphs are not clearly delineated (it seems to remove the line between paragraph returns), comments run into another, etc. I really did like your layout two layouts ago. It was easy to read, clean (if a bit cutesy, but cutesy made thematic sense since this is a koala’s blog), etc. Anyhow, those are my two or three or four cents. I hope they’re helpful.

    • anais

I really appreciate your feedback. This layout I think is the best of all worlds, with a large reading, writing space, clean comment blocks (in white with black letters for readability), and a more streamlined look. The old layout was really temporary for me (it was too cute and reading space in posts was too small), and the one I tried for a couple hours was too different and had too many readability issues. I’ll try to fiddle with the css file for this layout and see if I can fix the problems.

[Edit: anais, I added more spacing between paragraphs in the post and comments section, so that addressed your great observation. It does look so much better now!]

  63. hi ms. koala!

may i ask a question? i’m just wondering how you seem so perfectly bilingual with chinese and korean. i am so impressed and jealous. 🙂

  64. Do you accept guest bloggers? I kinda want to give it a go and I like your site. I wasn’t sure if I should email, but I figured it might easier for you to see my comment here. I’m not exactly a long time reader (I discovered your blog when Lie To Me was airing). I had no idea you were that much older than me, not like that’s an issue :). I’m curious is your more of an unni or an ahjumma. You can reply by email too :). I hope you’re enjoying you vaca!

  65. captain, why recently i cant quick open this new site?i have to try several times to open it..it just me or there is any one have same problem with me? 🙁

  66. Koala sis, I can’t help but drop in here and say many many thanks for introducing me to Drunken To Love You. It is soooo good! Am only up to Cup 10 by now but since I’ve already read your recaps, I just want it more badly. Plotwise, there is nothing much in it, but everything is woven so smoothly that you would get hooked easily. And by gosh, the OTP is one of the best I’ve encountered in my longest time of Asian Drama watching. Song Jie Xiu and Lin Xiao Ru are so lovable and adorable and an eye-candy. You’ve mentioned in one of the recaps that male leads should bow down to Jie Xiu, something to that effect. I cannot agree more! He’s just so handsome, so manly, and exudes that aura… ahhh I can’t explain it properly but when he is onscreen I can’t but be glued. Yes, Rainie Yang is really good, but Joseph is like his living the character himself. He’s one of the manliest man I’ve ever seen.

One of the bestest drama, I feel so light-hearted after watching. Our OTP totally rocks! They also got a very good OST. Now, my officemates would tell me, “huh, you are not singing k-drama ost but t-drama ost as well?”.

Thank you once again koala sis! :))

  67. Oh my dear Ms Koala. Here I am again crying on your shoulder cause I made the stupid mistake of watching SOAW. I should have followed your lead but I love Kim Sun Ah and Lee Dong Wook so much but now I have to drop it cause they tore my heart and all I can do is pray that Protect the Boss cheers me up. Didn’t I say once that I would never watch a tearjerker after MMM? Anyway, thank you for listening.
They need to redefine Rom-Com to melodrama.

    • *HUGS*

I am staying far far away from SOAW until its finished. I don’t have the tears for that drama right now. If you want some LDW, try My Girl. For my Sun Ah, it’s forever and always City Hall. Great dramas that will give you the fix without the tears. You can do it! I hear SOAW is lovely, despite all the tears.

      • Thanks. I watched My Girl but did not like the lead girl. I could never tell if she was smiling or crying. Tried to watch La Dolce Vita (title fail) but it was too emotional so I dropped. I went back to my fave My Lovely Sam Soon. Now I am watching the good parts of The Woman who still wants to Marry. When you finally watch SOAW, be prepared. That’s all I’m saying. Lee Dong Wook will forever make my heart melt. He is like fine wine, aged to perfection.

      • awww! sis, am watching SOAW despite… it’s just worth it, anyways, there is still PTB to cheer me up after a weekend of tears, but it ain’t always dark and gloomy there, some lovely sunshine too “_”.

      • i guess its different cause city hall had a happy ending but honestly i cried like MAD watching that series. towards the middle end when it was angsty, oh my. currently watching SOAW and the tears are definitely a flowing too but i highly recommend it! though i may think differently once it ends. lol.

  68. Hi Koala,

Just wanted to say THANKS for all the recaps and posts. It is a lovely thing you do – especially with all you have going on in your life. Just wanted to let you know that after reading in the comments of the OHSHC posts I decided to check out Zenkai Girl – it is so, so good. I love coming to the Playground and having all the recommendations from fellow drama lovers and you are such a gracious host.

    MJ

  69. Hi koala bear…. make sure to check your eucalyptus basket this morning “) Kiwi Claus is a bit happy this morning. Ho! Ho! Ho!

  70. Hi Koala!

I think your site has been reported as an attack site on firefox. My firefox keeps marking yours as an attack site and telling me to not enter it.

  71. koaaaallaaaaaaa!!! could you please pick up your material queen recaps??? i miss them so much! i’ve read other people’s recaps on the drama but they aren’t as detailed or great as yours… T^T” * pouts*

  72. Hi Koala,

I chanced upon your website when i was searching for episode guide for “Drunken to love you” and i just want to tell you that your drama recaps are very very well done. Every detail and conversation is very well translated. Not forgetting your witty and funny comments at times!

I hope that you will continue to press on (though i understand that it may be tiring at times)

    Take care!

    • It’s called 还是会 (I Still Will) and is sung by Weibird (i.e. William Wei 韋禮安), a Taiwanese singer.

The ITWY OST is already out so you should be able to find the song.

      • ahhh so it really is only a short song. i thought it was an edited version of a full-length song. thank you for the artist name and title! SO HELPFUL!! <3 <3 <3

  74. Hey koala! Great blog. I want to subscribe to your posts via email, but for the last couple of days, when I try to subscribe in the sidebar, there are errors. Is there another way I can be added to the email list? Thanks!

  75. Sis,

Just dropping by to say thank you for introducing me/us again to BBJX. It was a really wonderful drama. It just left me speechless… so beautiful, great acting, wonderful scenes and a really really good story. Just finished it and the tears are still fresh. This is the first C-drama i ever watch.

  76. Hi Koala…..stumbled upon your blog once accidentally… and have been a regular visitor ever since…..love the fact that you talk about Korean,Chinese , Taiwanese and Japanese drama. I was just wondering is that because you know all three languages ? (Sorry, is that a stupid question ?)
If you really do know all three languages, God that’s AWESOME…..I mean including English you know four languages…..Cool !!!
Hey, keep up the good work…

  77. Ms. K !!

r we connected?? I’m watching autumn concerto for the 1st time and just wanna ask your opinion bout this drama. Understand this is one of the best T-drama kekekekek…but it’ll never be the same without ur comments…kekekek…and now the banner changing to vaness wu?? lol…

  78. Hello Koala(-bear?)!

I just had to say how much I like your blog already, though I just discovered it. I have been looking for a blog on dramas that, in addition to Korean dramas, discusses Japanese and Taiwanese dramas as well. I am a newborn blogger, so it is very interesting to read your opinions that…well…differ from mine’s quite greatly, yet I might say I enjoy them even more because of it. Keep up the great work!

PS: Love your name, reminds me of koala bears (duh, obviously). I’m a sucker for animals, so I couldn’t stop myself from saying it…:)

  79. Hi Koala! I love reading your blog 🙂

I recently stumbled upon your wonderful recap for Tamra the Island, and immediately watched the drama. Within a week I was finished and had already bought the dvd set. I can easily say that it is one of my favorites EVER! I noticed in your recap you mentioned marriage? At the end in the little manga montage are Beo Jin and Park Kyu getting married?

    Hope to hear your reply!

  80. So Skip Beat just started airing like a week ago and I was wondering if you could recap it soon? B/c I have literally been a die-hard follower of your posts and drama recaps. Your recaps are so well written and have pictures to accompany all of them, and I think it would be so AWESOME if you were able to recap Skip Beat!! Thanks!

  81. hey koala! so happy i found ur blog, its even more fun to read than dramabeans, cus me being chinese and all. just love ur blog to death, ever since i discovered it a few weeks ago, i feel like i check ur blog almost everyday for new posts now. and thanks to ur raves about BBJX, i decided to watch it last week and fell in luuuv. haha, marathoned the whole series in 4 days n was the first mainland drama i’ve ever watched ! so GOOD. Thanks so much for sharing all ur recommendations, interesting tidbits, recaps, opinion+comments (so interesting and hilarious to read)

  82. Just a little request — could you post a link to ep 15 of Me Too Flower in the recaps please… I like to read it occasionally cuz I still love that drama to death, but have to keep paging back to find it. Thanks!!

  83. Hi Mz. Koala!

I stumbled upon your blog while searching for the drama Lie to Me starring Yoon Eun Hye. I’ve been reading your blog for almost a year now and I love it! You’ve turned me on to so many great dramas, and your translations are the best!

I recently found the mainland drama Sealed with a Kiss starring Hawick Lau and Ying Er. I was wondering if you have watched that drama? I found the modern C-drama really great. Hawick’s acting was superb, but I found Ying Er’s acting a bit lacking and their chemistry kinda meh. However, the storyline and his overall acting was what made me stick it through. If you haven’t had a chance to see the drama yet, check it out on viki.com 🙂

  84. Hi Mz. Koala! While searching for some update of Yuan Hong, Liu Shi Shi, and Hu Ge dramas, I found out about Da Mo Yao and that the story is also by Tong Hua of Bu Bu Jing Xin! And soo I wanted to read the novel online, and that is how I came to your site. I am so happy (so HAPPY) to see that you made an English translation! Makes my life so much easier! I bought the BBJX books because I really enjoyed the drama, but my Mandarin skill isn’t strong enough, so I have to spend most of my time with the dictionary. I saw that someone has translated BBJX, but I’m not sure if it is completed yet. So I’m really really happy that you translated DMY! Thank you, your love for the novel and your translation has spread to me! I love BBJX and DMY! (I’ll read Yun Ge Zhong when you are done translating DMY) You stated that the YGZ is 2x longer than DMY and that you might not be able to translate all of it because it is … time consuming. Either way, if you find the time I’m sure so many people will be so happy, but if you can’t that is okay, I’ll just hope that the drama adaptation won’t disappoint.

  85. Hi Mz.Koala,
I came across your blog three days ago and I got addicted!!!! yes! I’m stalking your blog daily . I want to thank you for your great effort in translating the books; with out you, people like me will never have a chance to enjoy great c dramas/novels. I hope you’ll continue to finish all your projects.

  86. hi miss koala! just want you to know, your blog has become my daily asian drama bible. i watch all the shows you watched, and i simply love your recaps. thanks so much.

  87. I was very very thankful for all your hard work =3
Thank you so much for all the recaps, woah, my addiction over reading your recaps has been a part of my weekly routine. Scheduled :)))

All I can say is that, “You’re awesome!”

God bless you and more power! Take care!

  88. Hi, love this site. I often stalk here to get some good reviews on any dramas.Though we differ sometimes on some reviews, still I love your take on most of the dramas. Love your header today(I’m a die hard fan of the drama), though I remember that you don’t like Heartstrings. Keep on making good reviews!

  89. Hi Your Koala Highness~

I just presenting your blog to my my whole class yesterday. It was about the authenticity of a web-site and I found our blog really suit for being authentic and entertaining! Even my lecturer give thumbs up! yippee~

Long story short: I LOVE THIS WEBSITE.

  91. Im very new here.Just want to say, your website seems to be the first for previews and recaps.
Im so glad and happy that I found you.

  92. Hey Koala!!!

I just wanted to say that I aprreciate ur sense of humor and honesty when it comes to this blog! And that I really enjoy reading them everyday!
I also wanted to ask if you had every thought about having a parter or someone to write along with u for the blog (maybe a different drama perspective perhaps or maybe even recapping something out of the ordinary that we never even thought about..)..I don’t know…all of the sudden I thought of that so I thought I should post it before I forget! LOL..

Thanks for everything again Koala! Best of luck!

  93. Hello there! I check your site religiously, and I really enjoy reading your recaps. I was just wondering, which languages do you speak/understand because it seems like you don’t need subs for dramas that come out! 🙂 I wish I understood Japanese right now for RMPW!! 😛

  94. Hi Koala! Love your blog, I check it almost everyday to read your recaps and you sure know how to make your point stand out! I love u! keep up the good work!

  95. Our Koala Himesama,

Have you had a chance to see the cast in Great Teacher Onizuka 2012 yet? I see the lead OTP actors from Ouran High School Host Club’s drama there. It looks like it could be fun.

I love your website and insights. Thank you so much for sharing with all of us.

  96. hi just logged on to your blog today loved it. i only started watching kdramas recently and am so obsessed which is pretty hard as their not that easy to get all the way out here in Zimbabwe. thanks for the great recaps and your ratings, they have given me lots of ideas for the dramas i should look for next.

  97. You should watch “To The Beautiful You” ; I love it sooo much!!! It’s so cuteeeeee reminds me of Playful Kiss and You’re Beautiful. Just a fun and cute drama to watch! :DD

  98. i just got lucky having your blog crossed my path… i have immense love for korean drama for the past years, and your blog would definitely help me to really understand more precisely those dramas that have been my companion in this lonely life of mine. keep up the good work. thank you. you’re an angel… God bless you.

  99. Mz. Koala,
I love your site so much, sometimes I feel like a stalker when I visit the site. I’m here everyday to read every tidbit you write…a few weeks ago you were so into the trailers for To The Beautiful You, did you have the chance to watch it? How do you find it? As I’ve read the manga, watched the taiwanese version, both japanese version, I must say that I’m not really into it, as I do find the tone uneven. So what’s your opinion? I’d really like to know.

  100. Hi Your Koala Highness,

I love your blog and your recaps which are always so well written. (: I especially love you read your opinions because you have really good opinions on everything. Ahahhaas! 😀

Oh, btw, I was wondering how many languages are you fluent in? You seem to always have recaps or have seen dramas before the subs are out.

  101. I was just wondering about your thoughts in the drama, What is Love. I wish you can recap it! I don’t really understand Mandarin, but Chris Wu is the LEAD ACTOR. Gosh I love his acting.

  102. Good day ,Your Koala Highness,

so so happy to be able to follow, read and enjoy your blog. I’m so surprised of many series you have watched and recapped :))Thumbs up for you, babe..Me?? I just got to watch only from the main actors I adore kekeke

i ll get in touch and here, just wanna say thanks for breaking the wall of languages for me, hugsss

  103. Hi Koala

Gotta say, you’re just amazing. All the news from my favourite taiwan stars and dramas and the usual korean stuff, best of both worlds I gotta say. Did you grow up with both korean and chinese, or learnt them later on? Just out of curiosty.:)

  104. Hi, Ms Koala!
can i ask you a favor?

i’ve just start watching Black & White, and hard sub is hard to find, i’m not asking where to find hardsub, but i really need your opinion whether or not i can spend a lot of time downloading or streaming for this series? is it worth? i always wary about the ending since the movie(s) must came because an open ending right, even though now we know that episode 1 is a prequel… so… will it worth?

i read your recap, but since you didn’t finish, i also though maybe i can do the honor???

    thanks in advance.

  105. I really like this Chinese drama called:Cuo Dian Yuan Yang – Xi Dian Yuan Yang. No sub right now for the drama. I just wonder by any chance you watched this drama and potentially doing a recap of it.

  106. Hi Ms.koala!
I don’t know what kind of magic you cast being web design illiterate but the mobile version of this site loads amazingly quickly now. Thank you for writing!

  107. Hi Ms. Koala^^ I was wondering if you’ve heard any news about Zaizai’s the Othershore 19… something drama when he’s a military doctor. I feel like he filmed it a long time ago but I didn’t miss it’s airing by any chance did I?

    Thanks~

  108. Hi Mz. Koala,

I’m really glad that I’ve come across your blog.
After looking over your “Drama Ratings/Top Ten” list and choosing My Name Is Kim Sam Soon as a “tryout”, if you don’t mind me saying it that way, I have to admit that I was not disappointed.
Your comments and opinions really inspire me in a way; I really appreciate your insights.
    I’ll check your blog out often… 🙂

  109. How many languages can you speak and how did you learn them? I’m astounded by your linguistic abilities! And may I ask your ethnicity? Thanks.

  110. Love your Blog! Have you seen this?

Yoo Seung Ho to Join Military After ‘I Miss You’ Ends
    2012-12-21 10:03 l CJ E&M enewsWorld Stewart Ho
    http://enewsworld.mnet.com/enews/cont..

Yoo Seung Ho is going from being Korea’s “little brother” to Korea’s “military man”.

The actor’s agency revealed on December 20 that Yoo Seung Ho had decided to fulfill his mandatory military duties once filming for I Miss You ends.

The agency added that the actor has every desire to enlist into Korea’s regular army forces among the front lines and not among the ranks of the military’s media or entertainment side.

A spokesperson for his agency said, “Yoo Seung Ho has a strong belief and will that he is a Korean youth first and foremost before he is an actor and that he must carry out his duties with his peers.”

The actor, who turned 20 in Korea this year, was said to want to serve his military duties with others his age, as most Korean men choose to carry out their mandatory service duties shortly after high school or during university, unlike most male Korean celebrities who choose to delay their enlistment until they turn 29.

His agency added, “As I Miss You will be his final production before he enters his military duties, he will do his best to ensure the production will be a meaningful one for him as an actor.”

Yoo Seung Ho will take a short break after I Miss You finishes filming before enlisting in early 2013.

  111. Hi, Ms. Koala. I wonder what your nationality is. 🙂 I love the way you write. Your style and your choice of words are a mixture of formal and oh so informal type which, in my perception, is striking. You sound as if you’re talking to your readers and I really like that kind of conversational blah blah. Moreover, I love the way you vividly describe what you feel or how you see the characters or what do you think about the plot or scenario by means of using numerous adjectives that can really make your reader picture out what you’re trying to say. I just visited your blog a few days ago and you’re writing skills make me wanna keep in touch with it. 🙂 Hoping I could get your attention and that you could give me some pieces of advice when it comes to writing. Kamsahamnida. 🙂

P.S. I also hope you can tell your nationality. 🙂

  112. Hi Ms Koala,

will you be doing any more updates for Yun Zhong Ge? I’ll trade a basket of euclyptus leaves for it.

Many thanks for a wonderful site.

  113. Hi Ms Koala! I started The Swordsman drama and so far I am enjoying Wallace and Qiao En relationship way more than the rest. Would it be possible for you to do a recap on this drama? There are many characters and sometimes I get lost with how each of them is related with each other. With my limited Chinese I understand very little of what they are saying. But I enjoyed it immensely regardless of the language barrier. Please consider recapping!!!!!!! 🙂 thanks mucho! Ps love ur blogs!!

  114. Hi Mz.K! First of all, just wanna say thanks so much for creating HwanHye playground for HH shippers! really appreciate it.^__^

I just visited the playground now and noticed the comment box isnt there. I wonder if it’s just a technical problem that has caused this.

Would appreciate much if maybe we could find a way to restore the comment box?

Thank you so much, Mz.K for your time and hope HwanHye ship will finally reach the port very soon. Till then, we, HH shippers, would definitely support HwanHye playground till end and beyond!^___^

    More power!!

  115. I’m not sure if you’ll get this message Mrs. Koala. But it didn’t feel right posting this comment on a post that had nothing to do with the topic.

I just wanted to let you know that there’s a new variety show that just aired called “barefoot friends”. Yoon Shi Yoon is a regular member, so if you need to get a fix like me and listen to his voice every Sunday, then this is the show for you. I never realized he was so funny. 🙂

    Try finding it on Kshownow.net

  116. Hi Koala,
I just want to say I enjoy reading your blog and admire your writing. Your writing is fun and interesting. You can explain intricate matter in relatively simple terms and that’s quite a skill. I wish I can express my thoughts as seamlessly. Keep up the good work.

  117. Hiiiii…..

It’s so funny that eventhough my opinions are totally different from yours most of the time, I love to read your blog 😉

By the way..do you have any news about upcoming drama Princess Aurora starring Jung So Min?? I will be really grateful if you can write an update on it as I’m not able to find it anywhere…..

  118. Hey Koala 🙂
I was just curious how many languages you know. How is it that you’re able to recap all the dramas before the subs come out?
Also I love your blog. keep it up!

  119. Hi Mz Koala,

Thank you for excellent blog you has provided us daily recap and entertainment updated.
Recently you comments MBC “I Summon You! Gold” quite enjoyable weekend drama.
Just wonder can u recap on it because for last few weeks there no eng sub.
It would be great if you can recap on it.

    Thank you

  120. Hi Mz K Highness,
Recently found your great website after checking reviews online for the Controversial “Sub Princess” I won’t go into that except that I did enjoy This drama. Your website, views, comments are the best and constructive I Have ever seen. It definitely will help before I view old and new dramas.
I used to rely on viewer comments on drama websites, Some are constructive, A lot is just “Brutal” Some viewers get too emotional about certain actors & Actress’s. Sure, I wanted to ring Wen Rui Fan (James Wen) and Li Wei En (Amanda Zhu) “Fierce Wife” necks, But I did’t take it Personal. It showed me their talented acting ability. They are “Actor’s” I Must say, Li Wei En (Amanda Zhu) was very scary. The screenwriter was Brilliant. I’ve often read that some actors who portray evil roles get a lot of hate mail. Gee, Such idiot’s!

  121. Hi Mz Koala
Thanks so much for the info on your excellent blog. Would it be possible if you could post more updates on Chris Wang and Sonia Sui. Love them after watching The Fierce Wife.
    Thank you

Hello, Mz. Koala! Am about to request the same like eppy and so glad that you will create new HH playground. In behalf of HH shippers, we would like to sincerely thank you for this initiative to create new one. It is just so sad that HH ship had experienced such problem in this very important days for our OTP.. Once again, Thank you so much, Mz. Koala! very much appreciated!^__^ And hope you could also drop by there! More power!

      • tnx, ms koala, it’s been days since we can’t post our comment, i hope you can post what new forum you’ll be starting for us, tnx in advance ms. koala, we miss Hwanhye HSI Team 🙁 so very much…

  123. Dear Ms Koala,

I like your site very much and your reviews and updates are very interesting!! Keep up the good job:-)

  124. Hey Koala, it seems that you are a Chris Wu fan. Have you checked out Hua Shi Ai (What Is Love?) yet? I’d love to read what you have to say about it. (:

  125. Hi Ms Koala, breaking news as just read Moon Geun Young and Kim Bum are dating in real life and both their agencies have confirmed. Sniff Sniff… I knew you would feel the same sniff sniff as me. Seiously though I think its great and explains their chemistry in the mess GOF.

      • Hi, congrats on the increased traffic 🙂 With the increasing popularity of Chinese Dramas, and as one of the few English sites that covers Chinese entertainment, I predict even more traffic in the upcoming year. Have you considered switching to Disqus comments, it would make the conversation on the posts flow better, and also easier to follow up on. Just wanted to say kudos and also offer a quick suggestion, cheers.

  126. Hi Miss Koala, I just saw your recap for the tw-drama “In a good way” and thought it will be nice if those are screencaps of higher quality. It’s just a suggestion, you need not bother with this if you feel it’s troublesome.

I have HD files of the drama since I saw those screencaps you took are quite blurry. These files are from 騰訊視頻, where SETTV sells the copyright to the site and provide HD videos (however it only comes out 3-4days after the actual broadcast date, which is such a pity…)

I’m just wondering whether you’re interested in them. If you are, I can upload it for you.
    sample screencap: http://i.minus.com/iIQJaSctvbFkq.JPG

If not you can try these two links on youtube for 720p version:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pO1Um_Hst4E
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1jGKLitfiG4

Again, I just wanna help, no ill-intention/complain intended.

    • I love to get it in HD! If you don’t mind, please send me upload links for the episodes. You can email it to my email address above. ^^ Thank you~

      • I’m uploading right now^^ and will send to your email soon. However, just to remind you, the HD version only comes out on tuesday, later than the actual broadcast day on friday.

  127. Hello Your Koala Highness! ^^

Just wanted to say how awesome you are and how much we value this little space on the web that you’re maintaining for all of us drama fans. How do you do all these things? K-, J-, C-, TW-drama… all of it, alongside a career and family? You must be a master at multi-tasking. ^^

Anyway, thank you and happy holidays to you and everybody who reads this blog. Here’s to more great stories in 2014!

  128. My humble greetings to Your Lovely Koala Highness 😀

Your humble servant would respectfully like to suggest that Your Highness watch, nay, marathon a little Taiwanese drama that has held the ratings record since 2008: Fated To Love You (命中注定我愛你). It was the drama that kicked off the To Love You series. If I may be so presumptuous as to urge you to watch it over a lazy weekend with the assurance that Your Highness would definitely become addicted, I would be ever so grateful if Your Highness could post at least a series review of one of the best Taiwanese dramas around.

Long live Your Lovely Koala Highness!

    With everlasting respect and humility,
    sotongpok

  129. I just accidentally ran across this blog a few days ago. I love it. You do a fantastic job. I can see I will be returning to this daily to see what’s new (and of course, to go through all the older posts to see what I have missed). Keep up the great work. Love all the pictures you post along with the articles. Thanks for your dedication.

  130. I’m probably really late on this, but I kept forgetting to ask… How many languages do you speak/understand. It seems like you never have to watch the dramas with sub titles.

  131. KBS is showing a new drama called Angel’s Revenge. Can you help with the recap. No one can do it better than you. The drama is very interesting and not yet subbed on VIKI.COM

  132. Hi.. Thanks for all Y done in this , Really pleasant and enjoying
Mr Koala encourage to me to learning Mandarin, if Y understand Korea, Mandarin, and English
    3 languages , awesome , proud of Y. Bravooo

  133. Greeting to your koala highness, i am really happy that i´ve bumped to this amazing site :). I am very grateful for your translations and i would like to ask if you will ever translate missing chapters from Yun Zhong Ge. Thanks

  134. Since i couldn’t find any good websites (with english subtitles) to watch sunny happiness. Well, thanks to you. Though just a recap but i enjoyed reading it. Without your recap i might not finish it. Big much help in developing my reading skills and vocabulary.

Hope you can upload more recap.

    More power!

  135. hi Ms. Koala…. your blog is so helpful for me. especially the drama, the bride of the century, damn…i really love it!! thank you

  136. Hi! I’ve been a reader of your blog for a long time now and always wondered which sites you use to watch Chinese/Taiwanese dramas. Are there any streaming sites I would be able to use besides DramaFever or Viki? Thanks!

  137. Hey Koala!
So I usually stay away from the wuxia genre because it just seems too strange for me.
But this weekend, I tried Legend of the Ancient Sword to check out your baby Li Yi Feng and woops i got hooked.
Not so much the storyline yet but *_* Li Yi Feng

  138. Captain K, I recently watched Tdrama called The Way We Were (16个夏天) and found its good and touching, just like a slice of life that you can relate to. Just thought to give you a heads-up and perhaps you will be kind enough to recap it as well for other non-Cnese speaking viewers, or at least it will bring up a forum where people can talk about it. Thank you 🙂

  139. Thank you so much for all your recaps and translations. I especially appreciate your translations of novels by Tong Hua ☺
Please keep up the good work and hopefully you will translate more of tong hua’s novels…

  140. Hi Koala!

I really enjoy reading your reviews/recaps of dramas. I found your blog when I was searching for Doctor Stranger reviews and was honestly surprised but also intrigued at how you didn’t sugarcoat anything. I was wondering if you could perhaps check out the drama “Bad Guys”? I saw that you posted and commented on one or two articles about the drama and I think it’d be a nice contrast to the ones you’re watching right now.

Thank you for your hard work and the enjoyable reading you bring us the audience!

  141. Koala unni,

I have been a fan of your site for many years now. I am finally at a point in my life where I have to decide what to do with it (other than watching dramas) I have always heard you talk about flights back and forth from various places and you still have time to watch dramas. I was wondering what kind of work you do? I vaguely remember something about a lawyer… but I am not too sure.

  142. Hi Koala,

I’ve been reading your posts on my iphone but I’ve noticed lately that whenever I open a post, in less than 30 secs, it redirects me to the App Store to down some kind of suspicious app. I suspect it’s an advertisement on your site, but I can never read the articles, because it automatically redirects me.

  143. Hi,

I know some of the dramas in the picture at the top of the web site but not all and it would be nice to have the name of the drama when you have your cursor on the picture so I can check it out.

Really like the web site and the recaps… Thanks a lot!

  144. Hi Mz Koala, do you know c-drama “qing ding san sheng” ? I just recently found it. a bit late since it’s 2014 drama, but I cant help it cause the male lead zhu yi long is damn hot. He is a newbie so kinda hard to find information about him, thats why i thought that the great Mz. Koala can find something about him

    Thank you

  145. Hi! I’m recommending ‘On The Wings Of Love’ drama to you. By far the best drama from the Philippines. It would awesome to read a review from you about it since I am an avid fan of your blog and the drama. Hope you’ll find the time to watch my favorite romcom series. Thank you!

  146. Hi

I agree with yourin. I just finished ‘qing ding san sheng’. Its surprisingly good without the usual over-dramatisation and cliche storyline. The actresses and male leads acted really well and are very good-looking (which helps:)). If you have time, please do a review for the benefit of others who have not watched it. Its not a major production and I came across it fairly accidentally.

I used to watch a lot of kdramas but agree with the Japanese network that the quality is slipping. They are not so good now and the actors and actresses are beginning to look rather alike. A pity!

    Thank you.

  147. Hi! Loving your blog! I noticed that you are currently watching Go Princess Go. Would you ever do recaps for this drama? It seems like there are no eng subs anywhere.

  148. i just started reading ballad of the desert
and i love the story already
it got serious moments(end of chapter 1 damn)
funny cute moments(mother wolves tell their babys horror stories of the mc haha)
and im just on chapter 2
im gonna enjoy the hell out of the story

  149. Can I subscribe so I receive notices when you post articles? I just liked your FB page–but these days, they don’t automatically show you all pages or people liked anymore. 🙁 Thanks. 🙂

  150. Hello! Thank you for all your recaps it really helps me a lot to keep going when going through these dramas or picking.

  151. Hi, just wondering if you have twitter account? Like other sites/blogs they post article at twitter link. Since I usually hang out there it’s easier for me to read your new post. Been a while since I open this blog because I forgot. Thank you 🙂
