Baby Recap for Lie to Me Episode 11

The last drama where I had to recap a day spent in Jeju with the OTP ending up being the infamous Ha Ni and Seung Jo honeymoon in Jeju in Playful Kiss, complete with Shameless Hussy, matching pajamas, and an editing monkey I wanted to throttle who filmed the wedding night from behind a WALL. Yeah, is still bitter.

Thankfully, this trip to Jeju for my OTP in Lie to Me episode 11 more than made up for that, because we pretty much spent the entire episode with Ki Joon and Ah Jung being dorky, talking, and being swoony together. I think my heart did little somersaults at the end of the episode, and maybe some fireworks went off for good measure.

Episode 11 Baby Recap:

Ki Joon and Ah Jung repeat their contradictory statements to the Chairman and the Minister, one saying they are married, the other saying they are not. The two men are seriously dim because they laugh and decide that they are seeing a marital spat going on where these young’uns decide they are married one day and not the other. Um, okay.

When they are alone, Ah Jung demands to know why Ki Joon said they were not married. He takes out their contract and rips it up in front of her. He wants to start from the beginning with her – if he wants to hold her hand or kiss her, he wants to not be bound by the contract. Ah Jung doesn’t think she’s agreed to that proposal yet, so Ki Joon tells her to just say no right now. Ah Jung doesn’t answer him and leaves.

So Ran takes off in in pique and drunken Jae Bum calls the cops and then Ah Jung to discuss how he’s worried So Ran might do something. Ah Jung finds out So Ran went to Jeju, and she offers to go find her. Her co-workers overhear her talking about Jeju and thinks she’s volunteered to go there on a project (to convince foreign groups to pick Jeju as a travel destination).

Ki Joon finds out Ah Jung is headed to Jeju and follows her there. She won’t wait for his helicopter so he gets on the ship with her, then hilariously gets seasick. She takes care of him and teases him for showing such weakness. When they arrive, Ki Joon has a limo waiting for them. He knows why she’s here for work, and wants to help her. He helps her get a copy of the schedule of the people she needs to meet, and at the hotel, he helps her find out they are staying there.

Ki Joon accompanies Ah Jung to the meeting and arranges so they play golf the next day. Sang Hee finds out Ah Jung is at Jeju. He calls her and chats with her, only to have Ki Joon grab the phone and tell Sang Hee that they are busy working. Ah Jung finds So Ran by the pool and explains Jae Bum caught her as she fell, and that she likes someone else now. Ki Joon walks up right then and So Ran finally believes Ah Jung. Jae Bum is told that So Ran is found and is fine.

Yoon Joo asks her dad to assist Ki Joon on the Shanghai project. Ki Joon and Ah Jung act adorable all night, with him fretting over her and she acting embarrassed all of a sudden. The next day, Ki Joon and Ah Jung go golfing with foreigners and Ah Jung’s sincerity in describing Jeju as reminding her of her mother touches the guests. Afterwards, Ah Jung and Ki Joon sit outside on the grass and discuss their loss, she losing her mother, he losing both his parents.

That night, Ah Jung gets a call from Ki Joon to change into a dress (a stunning strapless floor length white dress with black print) he left for her and come meet him. She arrives to see him wearing a white tux next to a romantic table set up for two. They sit down and he toasts her on a job well done today. She thanks him for everything he’s done, apologizes for not taking his feelings into consideration when she asked him to lie in the first place. Ki Joon gets up and walks over to Ah Jung, leaning down to kiss her gently on the forehead. He apologizes for using her lie to his advantage as well.

Ah Jung confesses that she saw his real feelings when he tore up the contract and announced to the Chairman and the Minister that they are not married. She cries and he wipes away her tear, asking if they can forget everything and start over again. He leans in to kiss her but she pulls back, asking if they can take it slow. Ki Joon looks at Ah Jung and promises to try harder and look at only her. She smiles and they hold hands. The camera pulls back and we see Yoon Joo standing there, having seen the entire moment between Ki Joon and Ah Jung.
