I love a good solid girl-friendship, especially when it involves two of my favorite actresses. Bonus points for lasting over a decade and still going strong. Ariel Lin and Rainie Yang, arguably Taiwan’s top two home grown girl-next-door award-winning actresses, have come a long way since their early teenybopper acting starts. Ariel has won two Golden Bell Best Actress Awards for They Kiss Again and In Time With You while Rainie took one in between with Hi, My Sweetheart. Both are now in that established phase of their career where they can be choosy about projects, so it’s super heartwarming to see Ariel taking time out of her busy schedule to star in an MV for one of Rainie’s new singles.

The single is the third track called “Actually We Deserve to be Happy” (其實我們值得幸福) and is a girl power anthem that chronicles a friendship that may be long distance now but the two friends will always wish each other well. Rainie joked that the song was basically written about her real life friendship with Ariel, now that both are so busy and traveling all the time, they rarely have time to hang out like when they first debuted and became BFFs. Ariel joked that when Rainie called for this MV she came running and hopes that Rainie will soon find a man worthy of her much like Ariel has settled down in marriage. They are so down-to-earth and sweet, I love these two so much!
