This Sunday is going to be a rough go for me watching my beloved Marry Me or Not. There’s the spectre of the drama heading into the final few episodes of its run, always a melancholy thought to entertain when its a drama that has brought me so much satisfaction. But even more anxiety inducing are the previews that appear to herald an impending sexual assault on leading lady Huan Huan, which doesn’t even matter the degree in which the awful perpetrator succeeds in his awful act, just the merely thought that Qian Yao’s even more loathsome older brother gets his hands on Huan Huan is enough for me to see red.

I can’t even imagine what Justin will do when he finds out, and I hope he unleashes an even bigger can of whup ass on the awful brothers, making his first punch down of Qian Yao look like a kindergarten brawl in comparison. The only silver lining are the stills that show the OTP are fine even after all the horrible things happen, with a trip to Korea coming up and a long awaited tumble in bed. First we have to cover our eyes and make it through the hair raising awful, and hopefully it’s not as bad as hinted in previews, before being rewarded with sweetness galore. That’s basically the point of romance drama watching, yes, enduring the struggles to get to the cathartic release of consummated romance.
