What a great way to start off the new year for C-actress Tang Yan, landing the cover and pages of Bazaar China in the cutest and most vibrant photo spread I’ve ever seen from her. It’s pink and adorable with a slide of bubblegum sexy, sorta like her take on Katy Perry. I felt like her major breakout season in 2015 last year actually did her a disservice as an actress, overexposing her and in too many roles that are just like her nickname of Tang Tang, which means candy.

Her acting can improve but she’s nowhere as awful as some of the awfully written roles she takes on and has to try and sell to the audience. Here’s hoping her currently filming period revenge drama The Princess Weiyoung will realign her career in a direction that is more substantive and challenging. But for the pretty and cute Candy-esque roles, she’s certainly gotten those out of her system and once in awhile I won’t mind if she does photo shoot as charming as this one which plays up her Candy reputation.
