This actually doesn’t look bad, this new 2016 adaptation of Japanese manga Itazura na Kiss (It Started with a Kiss), but then again I have zilch expectations going in so that’s not a high bar to cross. Following on the heels of the success Taiwanese version It Started with a Kiss, and the recent success Japanese second version Itazura na Kiss: Love in Tokyo, there is enough interest in this high school romance to warrant the arrival of Miss in Kiss starring Dino Lee and Esther Wu. He got his big break as the second male lead in hit TW-movie Our Times while she’s a relative newbie so the two mostly fresh faces can give their take on the now iconic characters of Naoki and Kotoki. So far he’s more winning and on point than her but visually they mesh quite well, and with a decent supporting cast around this looks like another entertaining romp in the same familiar pool.

Hi Koala! Are you writing a post on the Goblin? I'm looking for somewhere to squeal and scream of joy for the fest it gave my eyes!!
Well, I don't think there's any danger of this couple replacing ArJoe That said it wasn't horrible so I'll probably watch at least the beginning if it gets subbed. If they stuck to the original, that show didn't have many kiss scenes so I'm surprised they had two in the preview.
Of cos nothing beats ArJoe, but if do not watch with comparison, I think it's not too bad from the preview. Ariel Lin nails every drama since she starts to act, who can surpasses her as Xiang Qin? Not even the japan or the Korean version can beat her ratings! Just watch tis new kiss as a different school rom com will not be too bad, I guess..
But Arjoe will still be my top favourite and tis new one makes me wanna rewatch ISWAK again;)
Every time they come out with a new adaptation, I always hope that they develop their version of Kotoko into an independent woman who thinks for herself, but still follows her heart. It makes me really furious when all her thoughts and life choices revolve about Naoki. Even if her intelligence level is on the low side of the spectrum, they should at least give her common sense. Let the girl maintain some dignity.
Kiss Me the Thailand version gives a good reason for her low IQ and she rejects and/or stops following him on multiple occasions.
Does anyone know what the opening song is?
