MBC Premieres Sageuk Ruler: Master the Mask this Wednesday Starring Yoo Seung Ho and Kim So Hyun
This Wednesday is the premiere of new MBC sageuk Ruler: Master of the Mask, on the big three prime time channel that is best known for bringing the sageuk intensity in a traditional way. The last two hit sageuks for MBC were Empress Ki in 2013 and before that The Moon Embraces the Sun in 2012, with many sageuks since then that have not reached the potential of bringing in the buzz or viewers. Currently airing Rebel: The Thief Who Stole the People over on Mon-Tues is nothing to write home about and I’m hanging my hat that Ruler delivers the addictive combination of charismatic leads and gripping story. Starring Yoo Seung Ho as the masked crown prince battling a shadowy and powerful organization in the Joseon era that control the water ways, he finds L to be his masked doppleganger and along the way romances Kim So Hyun, who is clearly going to be love-hate since Yoo Seung Ho’s king father has her dad executed. I’m ready for the tormented romance and a hero’s quest to root for so bring it on!

i am surprise about what koala said about drama rebel,it is enjoyable and a good drama but underrated because of its relatively unknown cast.the rating is decent too and i love this more than hong gil dong 2008 version eventhough i perfer its cast more than this.

People be on L all the time, but at least he knows how to emote, more than I can say for Sohee. He’s received nothing but praise from those working in the sageuk.
Love the leads! They make a beautiful visual couple but i must Watch the 1st ep to see if they can sell the chemistry of a romantic couple . Their competitors JCW and NJH give a more sensual romantic vibe as a couple. Just my opinion. The weak point of YSH is that he was always paired with older actresses so for me it will be his first romantic role as an adult.
