Well respected K-drama screenwriter Noh Hee Kyung is nothing but consistent in delivering quality television narratives even as the production and ratings landscape has changed. She’s resisted the trendy for nearly two decades and continues to tell stories deeper than most of her counterparts. It’s quite a mark of acclaim to star in a Noh Hee Kyung penned drama and the next leading lady to get the tap is none other than quirky Jung Yumi. She’s in talks to star in Noh Hee Kyung’s upcoming police themed drama Live, which will be directed by frequent Noh Hee Kyung collaboration PD Kim Kyu Tae. This will mark Jung Yumi’s first K-drama in three years since she did Discovery of Love with Eric in 2014. The drama is slated to air in the latter half of 2017 and is the first time Noh Hee Kyung will write a police drama.
Noh Hee Kyung’s last drama was Dear My Friends on tvN which won her the best screenwriting Baeksang recently. It wasn’t directed by PD Kim Kyu Tae, who did her last four dramas prior with It’s Okay, It’s Love, That Winter, the Wind Blows, Padam Padam, and The World We Live In.
I love Jung Yumi. She’s not rating goddess but every projects she choose is high quality. She’s very versatile and talented actress but so unique in real life. Become bestie to many A-list actors like Yoo Ah In or Gong Yoo doesn’t make her attention seeker. My favorite drama of her still Que Sera Sera. Her and Eric always become one of my fav on screen couple.
noh hee kyung is my fav writer just for her quality writing.jung yu mi is an excellent actress so looking forward to it
I like Jung Yumi since i saw “Que sere sera” great drama . I was suggesting her to replace Han Ye Seul in the previous post ! Too late she’s taken.
jfc now we’re back to Kim Kyu-tae?! I thought Dear My Friends might signify she was free of him.
“Consistent” and “Noh Hee-kyung” don’t belong in the same sentence. Anyone who’s seen her old dramas and her new stuff can see they’re light years apart.
I love Jung Yumi. She is amazing person who make you love her more you see her. I loved her with Kim Ji Suk and Sung Joon. I didnt like almost all of Sungjoon’s other partners in the drama thought. Havent watched Que Sera Sera though, becoz last collabration with Eric, i was in the second ship.
Jung Yumi is such a lovely person. And of course so talented. I love to see her crying because she’s so pretty when cry lol. And just like some mentioned, love her and Eric together, even shipping them silently after their cute interaction during KBS drama awards last time. Too bad the guy will get married soon. If their collaboration will ever happen, I guarantee it will be one of my favorite drama again.
