Script Reading Stills For Answer Me PD’s Next Drama Wise Prison Life with Jung Kyung Ho, Park Hae Soo, and Krystal
There seems to be a mild surge in prison or prisoner K-dramas in the last two years, I recall Bad Guys and Defendant and now the Answer Me series PD Shin Won Ho is jumping into the fray with Wise Prison Life (Smart Prison Living). As the title suggests, the drama centers around the lives of the prisoners and the prison staff, a male character centric work with the female cast being supporting characters. PD Shin has selected solid actors Jung Kyung Ho and Park Hae Soo the headline, and the casting of idol-actress Krystal as the female lead garnered the understandable headlines this week. This will be PD Shin’s first K-drama outside of the Answer Me series so it remains to be seen if his humanistic touch translates over to the darker world of prison life, and also whether the viewers will tune in for a story not about the dated era daily lives of relatable South Koreans.
Why is it that they always cast singers as leads? I’m not too fond of some of them because their acting is good, but not worthy of being a lead.
Krystal already finished haebak?
Sung Dong Il!? Always the constant fixture in PD-nim’s works.
Jung Kyung Ho needs a better female lead. Last few wasnt so good.
Krystal wouldn’t have my first female lead choice.
I have never understood these girl groups costumes. They are very sexual and provocative , who are they appealing to when they wear the school girl outfits? The dramas depict Koreans as being gentle, very well mannered ladylike, then one watches the girl groups and they sure are not presenting themselves like this at all. So which is it? Will Krystal be playing the sexy kitten roles, wearing her girl group clothes or will she now be projecting herself in a different light? Do these girl group young ladies sell the cute sexy image to get noticed…or what? It is confusing. This theme is rampant throughout the girl group industry. There is something weird about it?
