The genre of zombie shows is like the zombies themselves, every time a pundit declares the genre dead the is yet another one waiting in the wings to pop out. I skipped what is now being called the interminable The Walking Dead so I’m not yet tired of this genre, and the Korean production teams have been doing their own take on zombie shows in new and entertaining ways such as Train to Busan and Kingdom. Another entry into the Korean zombie world is June 2020 premiering movie #Alive which looks self-contained and will require male lead Yoo Ah In to hard carry this movie. Park Shin Hye is in it as well but she doesn’t show up until later in the movie and really it’s a Yoo Ah In show as everyone outside of his apartment building for the most part are now ravenous zombies. He needs to find cell service to summon help and later meets up with fellow stranded survivor in Park Shin Hye and the two appear to stage coordinated separate escapes. The movie looks good from the just released main trailer but one wonders if right now there is an appetite (har har) in South Korea for pandemic turning people into ravenous zombies.
Movie trailer for #Alive:
im into this. it is a dark comedy. lets have a reverse psychology for i am truly frightened if there is a side effect on the rush vaccine that they want to give us all to fight the covid. what if its the part of the planet of the apes or train to busan lol. the result in watching too many movies.
Wonder if this is a Korean version of Zombieland, but since there are only 2 main characters….maybe they have combined the Emma Stone and Woody Harrelson character into PSH? She does carry an ax in that trailer. Can not wait to see how this movie turns out.

I can’t wait
Looking forward to see Park Shin Hye in this movie , fighting the Zombies. Praying she will stand up for those zombies in the movie and in real world . Not only zombies by also witches! ??
waiting for this..i’m excited to see PSH
If only they did a drama together. PSH has that ability to have OTP feels with any male actor.
Here’s hoping they will since they said today they would like to collaborate in another genre
Can’t wait to see this movie. Love Yoo Ah In and his performance. He never disappointed.
