Kim Min Jae Steals the Drama in the First Teaser for KBS Rom-com Dali and the Cocky Prince Opposite Park Kyu Young
I found the first official poster for upcoming KBS romance drama Dali and the Cocky Prince (Dal Ri and Gamjatang) bizarrely terrible but thankfully the first teaser swung things back to the positive side albeit in a very one-sided way. Male lead Kim Min Jae is ON FIRE, he totally stole the 30 second teaser with his animated exuberance, and conversely female lead Park Kyu Young just came across as woefully miscast. It’s the same initial impression I got of Kim Go Eun in character for her upcoming drama Yumi’s Cells, the two actresses have the cool, sleek, competent young man vibe down pat and having them play cutesy, timid, or here rich and with bad flashy fashion taste just doesn’t jibe well off the bat. Certainly as the drama gets into the swing of things the awkward first impression can smooth out, and it will help a lot if her hairstyle is changed like ASAP. Those wispies want me to pull her hair out argh sorry it’s triggering my OCD.

It looks like they’re going for a IONTBO or Hotel del Luna fashion. Park Kyu Young really doesn’t suit the romcom genre and it shows. Plus, her hairstyle in this is awful to the point of distraction. Wth is even that hairstyle?
She can though! She’s so good as a supporting character in Romance is a Bonus Book.

Yes, the female lead feels way off. She played the second FL lead in the drama It’s OK not to be OK, and it was so hard to watch her. I automatically looked into her lips whenever she appears coz it’s where it’s most obvious – how unnatural she delivered her line (and the whole facial expression)in that drama. Way off.
Terrible teaser. Her hair is awful. He’s overacting. I think I’ll cross this one off me list. The ratings are going to be bad.
I mean, it’s KBS. So bad ratings are pretty much a given anyway. Lol.
Yeah I was not really impressed with what I saw, he’s overacting but at the same time his acting feels hollow, i’m not buying what he’s selling here but that’s just based on this clip.
I did like what I saw of his acting in Tempted and supposedly he was good in Do You Like Brahms which is on my watchlist.
She was great in “Sweet Home”
Agreed – she’s excellent in Sweet Home, totally a standout among the strong ensemble cast.
Nooooo I thought her hair was just for the teaser 😮 I really don’t think I can watch the drama with her hair looking like that!
I first saw her in Sweet Home and then was floored when I realized the rich and ditsy coworker in Romance is a Bonus Book was her. I’m curious as to why they styled her hair like that. Why would any woman who has to go into the office style their hair like that. It looks like it takes some work during the morning and throughout the day to get the hair just so all day every day.
The opposite of me I’m not interested to see kim min jae at all but the girl looks interesting
