Gallup Poll Ratings for the Most Popular K-dramas in the Past 5 Years Has Sky Castle then Goblin in the First Two Spots

Seeing the most popular and highest rated K-dramas matched up against each other helps give even more context for what was super high profile when it aired due to so many viewers tuning in. In a Gallup Poll ranking of the most popular K-dramas for the last 5 years (2016-2021), the pinnacle remains the grande dame herself Sky Castle which singlehandedly put jTBC on the contender stage. In second place is tvN‘s fantasy romance hit Goblin, and the two dramas are actually not that far apart. After that it’s another jTBC drama The World of the Married in third, followed by Crash Landing on You, and rounding out the top 5 is Moonlight Drawn By Clouds. It’s totally warranted as these dramas were uniformly accepted as big major major hits when it aired. The second half of the list starts with When the Camellia Blooms in sixth place, then Romantic Doctor, Teacher Kim first season, and worming its way on the list in eighth/ninth place is Penthouse season 1 and 2, and in the tenth spot is Mr. Sunshine.

SC is depressing as hell. For re-watch value, I would go for camellia, mdbc, cloy & goblin. Makjang is not my cup of tea so never bothered to watch wotm & penthouse.
I like cloy the most tbh. Such a fun drama and great cast. Dr romantic is good too.
I think this list looks just about right for popularity with general audience. I have watched and enjoyed all of them, except for Goblin, Camellia and Dr Romantic…dropped these three after several episodes as I did not like the stories and some of the actors.
YES! Sky Castle no.1! BRAVO!
Moonlight has a seamless story telling that it may not look as dramatic and may not tragic story-wise but it makes you feel the moment, the crew is doing a really good work in this drama, not just the cast and it shown.
Camellia I couldn’t finish, just watched the first 2 eps and already getting me antsy at my seat watching the female lead acting in the most conscious way, like she’s watching herself act in front of the mirror and patting herself at the back for a great acting she’s doing, if u know what I mean. So I don’t understand why it’s on the list. There’s so many other dramas over a 5 year period better than Camellia. Cloy is good but commercialized. Moonlight is awesome. Makjang is too much for me. The other Miss Oh was great but not on the list.

Goblin is my favourite among the listed kdrama,I’m happy many love it as much as I do. I don’t get tired recommending it to people???
Always crash landing on you. It’s a fantastic drama. I loved goblin also. Sky castle is like a stressful thriller. Many people will not like its storyline. My question is where Is reply 1988. It’s the 4th rated cable TV drama. Its a must watch drama.

Where is Scarlet Heart Ryeo??? Watched all of those drama…
Scarlet Heart wasn’t a success in Korea. It aired around the time of Moonlight Drawn By Clouds which was much more popular with the public and critics
Good thing is Scarlet heart was very popular globally.
From that list, I only liked Sky Castle, When the Camellia Blooms and CLOY.
Goblinn…guardian thelonely and the great god ..though i like ither as well…bt nothing can beat GOBLIN for sure
We liked Scarlet heart, too. Hope someone will finance for the season 2. Hopeful.
Sorry whoever put this line up together haven’t watched TKEM ,it is a fantasy series sure but it is a beautiful fantasy series
