Sometimes there is too much of a good thing if it’s all the same type of thing, and that’s what agency Ieum Hashtag is shaping up to be. The still relatively new agency added a beautiful young singer-actress this week in Seolhyun, who if she is exclusively going to be an actress will likely go with her full name Kim Seol Hyun. She’s long been with FNC basically as the face of its girl group AOA which hasn’t disbanded yet but currently has only two members left as the rest have left intermittently over the last 5 years. Seolhyun signing with Ieum Hashtag makes her part of the same agency as Jeon Ji Hyun, Seo Ji Hye, and Kim So Hyun, and first all all four girls exude the same cool vibes and the first two and the second two basically are up for the same roles so this is just weird. But if there is enough attention to go around for everyone then that’s great. Wishing Seolhyun a good start to this new journey.
I don’t think JJH and SJH are going to compete for the same roles lol… JJH is mainly a Chungmuro actress with a few high profile dramas ever couple of years. SJH is really still making a name for herself and it would be so unlikely for a production to go for her if JJH refuses…
But yup, definitely KSH and Seolhyun have the same vibe, is in the same age group etc. Then again, there was a time KYJ and KSH were in the same agency, so…
I think Seolhyun is more in the age group of Han So Hee, Suzy, etc.
Kim So Hyun is still in her early 20s so she will most likely still play college-age characters. But yeah, both are beautiful in that classic kdrama protagonist way, and yes they have the same vibe, so it’s very likely they will compete for the same type of roles. Really hoping there would be enough for both tho, I really like them both
I don’t see any chances of an overlap between KSH and Seolhyun. Their acting abilities and styles are worlds apart. They have a 4 year age gap so I don’t think they’ll even be up for the same roles.

ieum so far is the worst agency for sohyun. now there’s seolhyun, i bet sohyun time in ieum becomes more worse. they basically eyeing for the same roles and sources. i don’t really understand this agency. u can’t find either contact information or social medias abt it in naver.
yeah. as a former aoa fan who now solo stans seolhyun, I’m kinda scared for seolhyun that she’ll get neglected too. us fans are happy she isn’t in fnc anymore, but I always see kim so hyun fans commenting that they are sad because their fave doesn’t get promoted well in that agency. now I’m afraid that will happen to seolhyun too. I don’t get it either, they have jun ji hyun and kim so hyun, two very popular actresses, and they don’t do sh!t to promote either when I’m sure other agencies are dying to get them. now seolhyun is theirs and I’m really nervous, doesn’t seem like a good agency, to be honest ☹️
@sadgirl in term of promoting its artist, yes.. ieum is very worst at it. they didn’t even have naver blog yet. there’s also no contact information to be contacted too. formerly, the management team managed culture depot (cd). but most of them left to ieum. actually, cd is bad at promoting its artists too. but they are better than ieum because CD at least has naver and contact information. when sohyun joined CD back then, actually there’re many seo jihye fans gave reminder to sohyun’s fans that they should lower their expectations towards CD. let’s pray they’re getting better because when they announced the newly built agency, they said they’ll interact to public more. shall wait and see if they’re really doing it.

The fact that you do not have any idea is a means that you stop feeling frustrated. For sure, there are good offers why these actresses that agency. Though even the agency is new, the management is said to have connections with big productions.

I dont’t think @mimi said any wrong. Being a long term fan of sohyun even I feel the same thing. They don’t have any social media where they can promote their artists. They are silent most of the time. Just giving drama is not the only work of agency they need to do other things too in which I see them lacking. So, if that makes me a inferior fan then let it be.
I think other fans’ views on this issue is valid and I don’t think it’s fair to call everyone who has valid concerns a “fake fan” or “immature fan”.
Look, I’m a longtime So Hyun fan and I can 95% spot commenters here who are pretending to be So Hyun fans, it’s all in the wording. Like I remember there’s a So Hyun post here and one commenter was claiming she’s a So Hyun fan but she’s saying things like, “No brand wants her”, I mean, come on, how can a supposed fan say something like that about their fave?
I think @mimi has valid concerns and she seems more angry at the agency, not low-key bashing So Hyun like the pretenders I’ve come across.
Also, trust me, I was in the “She’s just a private person, it’s her choice not to be visible nowadays” camp too, but this is getting too much. Yes she’s always been a private person, but that didn’t stop her from being highly visible in the past, even during her E&T Story days and was fairly promoted well.
Also, what about the bad styling, can you all excuse that with the “she’s just a private person” excuse too? Literally look at how she was styled in the recent KBA, they just slapped on a red lipstick on her and it’s like they’re saying to her fans, “There, happy now?”. Her styling is just bare minimum, they couldn’t even be bothered to dress her in the right size, she always looks like she’s drowning in fabric. Compare that to her styling in the Sidus days, sure, she had misses too, but she always looked fresh and youthful. Not romanticizing Sidus, by the way, just giving an example.
Ieum didn’t even release articles about casting confirmations and such, and I doubt they’ll even have social media to promote their stars.
So Hyun has 2 dramas next year, and if she’s in another agency, she would’ve had magazine photoshoots and things like that by now to put her name out there, but alas…
Overall, I’m just tired of defending CD/Ieum, whereas I’ve always done that in the past. They need to know that So Hyun fans want the best for her, that we demand it, and there’s nothing wrong with that. If that makes me an immature fan, so be it. Excuse me for wanting the best for my fave, I guess…

an immature fan here too. it’s actually pointless to argue with matured person like luna and mary kay. immature people like us can’t really argue the one with superiority complex like them. every complaints will be seen as ‘immature’. they only like to see a good side and be blind with the bad side coz it’ll be seen as immaturity and inferior.

Thank you for saying what I feel. We all know cd and leum is basically same. When she was not doing any drama in 2021, there was basically nothing from their side. No cfs, no photoshoots nothing. Also, I have so much to complain about the dresses and makeup. They always dresses her in 1 size bigger with no makeup. It’s like they don’t even care. Till now, I have nothing but complain for them. If they still behave like this during broadcast of these dramas like No promotion, No photoshots. Then, it is indeed better to leave the agency and go independent.
KSH and Seolhyun definitely have overlapping drama offers but the difference in their acting skills is a literal chasm. I doubt any PD would chose Seolhyun over KSH for a role and likely the roles rejected by her would be passed down. I think Ieum need Seolhyun for the CF money more than anything since KSH and SJH don’t do CFs and only JJH is hard carrying the CF quota of the company. Its expected Park Juhyun from Love All Play will also join IEUM which is where the competition for roles will really come in. By which time I assume either KSH will leave the agency or she’ll shift her focus from dramas to movies. Either ways the major big budget dramas will only go to JJH and the smaller big budget drama (20-30 billion won) will go the KSH.

I don’t think this agency is good for anyone but there is for sure no overlap in their images or roles. Just don’t expect any actual promotions or visibility.
