Yang Zi just finished filming the modern C-drama Story of Joy last week and her scheduled for this last quarter of the year will be much lighter. Her period drama next project Flourished Peony adapted from the same name novel will start filming at very end of the year with rumored male lead Chen Xing Xu which may change. Re-shoots are underway for the new male lead Lin Geng Xin for The Golden Hairpin but he’s doing all the heavy lifting to take over for Wu Yi Fan, whereas Yang Zi reportedly has very few re-shoots needed as most of her OG filming will be used. This means she will have a rare downtime next few months and reportedly will be more active in the endorsements and fashion scene, but it can all change if Lost You Forever Part 2 airs before year end.
She needs her well deserved rest. But I will say, Yang Zi has been thru very bad years of having no work, I bet she treasures every opportunity she is given now. She will never allow her popularity to get over her head. She is a very level headed person.
I understand she is now working with younger or less experience actors…But I really wish to watch her and Xiao Zhan on another project. Xiao Zhan is just so relaxed with her…I really enjoy their chemistry.
A lot of XZ fans don’t like her for some reasons. They dislike Wang Yibo and YZ the most. But XZ and YZ seem to have good friendship in private life though.
XZ has the best chemistry with YZ among all his female leads although I consider Bai Baihe the best actress among all. I personally don’t like YZ’s visuals. She always looks PS-ish to me. Besides, she has been playing so many idol costume dramas that I’m kinda losing interest in her acting. I used to like her a lot in Ashes of Love and even the Oath of Love was ok although I think she was too sloppy to act and looked fake as a pro celloist. I also dislike her heavy makeup all the time. Anyhow, not to say she’s not a good actress. But she’s now a bit boring to me.
She did do work on her face… I watch most of her projects as I really like her style of acting. She is relaxing to watch. I watch Xiao Zhan in a number of dramas, i find he is most relaxed with Yang Zi, and that makes watching them enjoyable. I like her in modern dramas, looks more natural…
As for Xiao Zhan’s fans, some of them caused enough problems for him already. Some of his fans are his own worst enemies.
It’s always a pleasant to watch Yang Zi. I really like her acting.
