K-drama fans are too cute as a recent fan fiction script concept has everyone suddenly wanting this K-drama made for realz. The idea is that Lee Se Young, Yoo Seung Ho, and Yeo Jin Gu are all child actors who grew up together and worked together various times. Lee Se Young says in an interview that Yoo Seung Ho is her best male lead which breaks Yeo Jin Gu’s heart. Yoo Seung Ho takes Lee Se Young for granted until he sees how hard Yeo Jin Gu is acting around her and suddenly there is a love triangle sprouted up. K-netizens are saying “take my money and make this drama happen!” lolol. The acting world is lucky both male leads survived and thrived in the transition to adulthood but for sure Lee Se Young is a legit goddess queen in her delivering each and every time.
Yes LSY and YSH look good together. Hope they have another drama together. Mentalist didn’t really have a romantic angle.
same! I hope they get to act in a romcom together as the OTP. Visually, they look good together though storywise, i prefer the Crown Clown with YJG.
I don’t know the actress, but I’d be down to have this trio in a drama in ANY good script. Admittedly, the fan fiction premise that fans are clamoring for sounds pretty bland lol
The Crown Clown was so good (except the end)! I think it was the best role of YJG, he did so well both roles. The PD did a great job, it was a beautiful show.
I don’t remember very well Mentalist’s story… It was not the best writing.
TBH, I’ve never got the visuals or acting of these two guys. But LSY was impressive in The Red Sleeve. So I guess she’s the best actor among the three?
It’s just that YSH didn’t get yet a role to show what he is capable of . He was begining to become really interesting 10 years ago with his role of Harry in “I miss you” a lot of older actresses were fangirling about him , but he began his military service . As for YJG, he can deliver good performances with a certain depht that a lot of young actors don’t have , I love him in ” Beyond evil” which must have been dificult as his co star was Shin Ha Kyung , in Circle too . It’s a kind of funny that all thoses actors including Kim So Hyun and Oh Jung Se, were all in the same drama and all are doing well when both stars went downhill . Life can be surprising ! I’m happy for all them .
@Cahill I agree! I think YSH had been absolutely mismanaged by his agency. For some reason they just can’t seem to find which type of drama will showcase him as the great actor that he is. YSH himself doesn’t seem to have a knack for choosing high-quality scripts and so we get those utterly forgettable dramas he’s been doing for the past several years. He had so much potential in his I Miss You era, and then nothing. His former agency didn’t promote him well either, he had no social media account for years (which you can get away with ONLY if you’re already at Park Bo Gum or Kim Soo Hyun level of stardom), no MC gigs, no appearances in events and such, no viral moments, no fluff pieces, etc. I still don’t know if his new agency, YG, will promote him well, but given that I’m already hearing his name quite a lot these past few days compared to when he was under his former agency (he was even in Running Man with BTS V just recently!), I’m kinda hoping for the better.
Can’t comment much on Yeo Jin Goo since I’m not a fan and don’t follow his career. I liked him as a child actor, but like YSH, his teen and adult projects have been forgettable except for The Crowned Clown (but that wasn’t talked about much by the public), Hotel del Luna (but IU and Lee Do Hyun kinda ate him up since he had no chemistry with IU and his role wasn’t memorable), and Beyond Evil (but all the acclaim went to Shin Ha Kyung). Not a fan of his visuals either, but to be fair to him, I don’t think he’s hyped for his visuals in the first place
@Lolita – 100% mirror everything you said on YSH. He’s so talented but so mismanaged. He could be so much more popular and an absolute A lister if he had a better agency and if he himself picked better roles.
But he’s so young still despite all the experience he has under his belt. I think YG is a good move for him and fingers crossed for better things to come for his career.
Right. Now that you’ve mentioned it, I realized it’s indeed rather the non-leads (except YSH) of Missing You who had evolving acting careers and remained on our screens up until today. Even Ahn Do Kyu, the child actor who played young Harry Borrison or Hyung Joon, was recently seen in Twinkling Watermelon. Also, Director Kim Hee Won (The Crowned Clown’s director) was part of IMY team during her early days as an assistant director which explains why she eventually casted YJG and LSY as leads in TCC.
@Somebody Have you seen I Miss You, Remember: War of the Son?, and Ruler: Master of the Mask? I’m aware that Ruler is viewed as a dumpster fire of a drama in the KDrama community, and yes, Kim So Hyun’s talent was wasted there, but I still think YSH gave a very memorable performance there, especially in the last part when he (SPOILER ALERT HERE) claimed the throne and you can see the contrast with his performance and that of the (ANOTHER SPOILER ALERT!) fake king, he was so regal and had a lot of presence and despite him wearing a mask, you can still feel his emotions because YSH is great at eye acting lol. I suggest watching that drama and forming your own opinion. I avoided that drama for years because it’s so hated by everyone, but I was running out of YSH dramas to watch, so I gave it a watch and ended up liking it and even finding it quite addictive. You know that feeling when you’re aware that the drama you’re watching is objectively bad but you can’t stop watching? Yeah, that’s how I felt with Ruler. Love YSH’s performance there and Kim So Hyun was so beautiful, too bad the writing for her character was meh. There was a lot of hype for the second female lead character (played by Yoon So Hee) during the drama’s airing, but I didn’t really like her character, she was a big simp and I don’t understand why everyone acts like she’s such a great character when she was literally okay with (SPOILER ALERT!) her grandfather poisoning little children, and she only saved those little children because YSH’s character asked her to. I despise her, which I know is an unpopular opinion but I don’t care, she had no personality outside of being a big simp for the prince 🤷♀️
Anyway, I also recommend the other two dramas I mentioned for the best YSH performances (in my opinion). Operation Proposal with Park Eun Bin was really nice too.
Yeo Jin Goo was great in Beyond Evil and The Crowned Clown but his other dramas never interested me
I think I might have watched I Miss You before taking a break from the dramaland just to focus on my career (that requires passing a lot of exams to get credentials). I remember that drama led by Yoon Eun-hye and Park Yoo-chun (who had some scandal later on?). But TBH, I can hardly recall the plot of that drama. LOL. The stuff I need to have in my limited brain cells to pass the exams must have washed away the memories of a lot of dramas I used to remember. LOL. I did try to watch Ruler: Master of the Mask later but the storyline wasn’t interesting to me and I dropped that drama; perhaps I was also very busy with career promotion and had no patience to really sit down enjoying a drama. TBH, YSH and YJG still remain mostly the image of child actors in my head. And that’s perhaps I’m not particularly impressed by them. On the other hand, I just watched The Red Sleeve this year. So, LSY’s performance is still vivid.

I can still remember being disappointed by only getting, at most, a handshake in Memorist so I don’t mind this time having a romance drama from YSH and LSY. Funny seeing YJG being the (apparent) underdog here when in fact he also got caught up in a love triangle of his own in the eternally viral MoonSun and Missing You crossover stage. For everyone to live happily ever after, I suggest bringing KSH in who also kept on choosing YJG as her dream male lead (which is, well, kinda true to life haha).
