So while I love Yang Zi this is not one of her C-dramas that I am all that interested in watching. The drama is called Love Endures (Stories of Love and Youth) and filmed last year with Yang Zi and Fan Cheng Cheng as her male lead and with a broad supporting cast as it’s based on an anthology structure around a group of childhood friends. I’ll wait to hear back if the drama is good or not but usually these stories in C-dramas are not my jam though I like it with K-dramas and TW-dramas. This is also a weird pairing I just don’t see the vibe with Yang Zi and Fan Cheng Cheng and feel she’s going to hard carry this entire drama.

Nahhh, this drama is actually doing very well even with only 2 episodes out yet. I love how it is relatable to real life things and love the shift btw their you get and older self. Il wait to see how it goes as I can’t judge this drama with just 2 episodes
I watched 2eps, am enjoying it so far. It is not just about her, which I like. This is a slice of life… No ridiculous amount of Placement ads, no fancy clothes…it is just so normal looking.
The filming style is like watching a Play. The camera focus on the actors but background is blur.. I cannot express in words what filming style it is. It is clearly not a high budget drama…thus not much promotion. I am unsure if I like this filming style but will keep watching to decide.
I do enjoy watching Yang Zi not looking all made up… I like her looking more serious and mature in this role…and also the young her too. She is a good actress… she makes this character real.

Yes, it’s on Jiangsu. TV ratings are the real indicators, webcasts of her dramas are so watered that it’s impossible to tell what is genuine and what isn’t.
I don’t even understand why she insists on TV when her performances are such. At least if it’s only on the web she can pretend it’s not water, even though everyone knows it is.
Like with all Chinese rating systems, a single number doesn’t mean much. Context matters. How does this compare to other dramas played on the same channel? The rating of Jiangsu is very different from a rating on CCTV 1 or 8. Do ratings this early mean anything? Only a couple of episodes. Eh, finally, I will watch to judge it myself instead of some random number telling me if something is good.
Every chanel has their own grading system and 0.25 on Jiangsu is really high since their average is 0.15, and I also like what you said, check it out and see for yourself instead of some grading system

Thank you for the context! I am not a Yang Zi fan, meaning I don’t follow her news, but I do find some of her projects good. This particular drama may not become an explosive hit, but I am sure it will have its own success. It’s silly to bash it on the 1st day with some random number.

– Dragon TV are 1

– jiangsu & zj around 0.3

Highest CVB was 0.38 for Jiangsu. So not 0.3 as you claim. You also keep talking about the highest point in the daily ratings but that’s not what CVB is.
So, this drama is in the middle of Jiangsu standard, not a flop, not a hit, at the moment. Mediocre.
A far bigger problem are Yang Zi fans who are making a mess on Chinese SNS by both denying CVB as relevant and boasting about this as if it’s great. It’s not going help her in any way because the industry knows the data and context no matter what you write.
The drama flopped so hard it flew out of top 10 TV ratings everyday and other smaller tv stations (hubei henan etc) did better lol. Yang zi fans can only blow the first day ratings and then it goes downhill from there and the 0.1 chassis was made by herself with the Psychologist ranking bottom <0.1 for 2023. JSTV chassis is always around 0.3, they call Yangzi the JSTV ratings destroyer in weibo cause her flop dramas always brings down JSTV's chassis lmao. You can tell her fans no longer brag about ratings on twitter or on here but brags about watery yunhe and data charts that can be bought LMAO. Don't forget about her bad acting gifs on weibo going viral with youku also pouring oil on her lmao.

Fan wars everywhere on this page… get a job people. Anyways, C-dramas don’t do these type of dramas very well but the ones that are good are always very good so I’ll wait for a few more reviews and check it out if the reviews are good.

As a fan of Yang Zi, I enjoy how she takes on high budget shows and also lower budget show to support newbies. She is well known to be so in the industry. Not all her drams will do well but at least she will do her part to help new artiste get recognised… I do not watch all her dramas as I dont enjoy some of them.
I watch drams to be entertained. If I am not entertained, regardless how I like a artiste, I will still drop it. My own time is precious to me… I am quite stingy on how I use it. We are so busy and stress with day to day task already, I just like to use my free moments doing things I enjoy.
Real drama viewers will watch a few eps to decide if they enjoy it or drop it. Rating or not, their decision is not base on other people’s opinion, they have their own independent thoughts and opinion, why should their preference be swayed by ratings?? Crazy.

I have watched 5 episodes so far and enjoying it. I don’t know about ratings or whatever. I am interested in how real the story is. It is about youth, growth, real struggles in life when we grow up, finding love, etc. it’s a bit slow right now as they build up what happened for past 12 years when they were missing from each others’ lives. I am very curious what happened to these good friends.
I have watched up to 7 episodes and I love it so far. There has been a lot of questions when I watched it like what happened to Lan Yifei and what did Yingzi asks for forgiveness from Jiang Yi. So far it keeps me interested and I don’t care about the ratings but this drama is so popular online anyway.
I’ve watched 5 eps and enjoying very much. This is a reality drama, not a school romance or fancy drama. I’m new to Cdramas. As a hardcore K dramas fan, most C dramas are not good for me. And heard C modern dramas are worser. So I didn’t expect this that much.
This, Love Endures, really get my attention with plot and acting. I feel like something is off with filming a little but it can acceptable when I found out that Director is new and this is low budget production. Another thing I don’t like is styling. They have the same hair style fr 18th to 30th. Overall this is a good one as a Cdrama.
After watching, I realised why they don’t cast young actors/actresses for students characters. Bc this drama is 30 yrs adulthoods longing their 18 yrs memories, not 18 yrs teenagers becoming to adult. Every eps has 18 yrs and 30 yrs scenes back to back.
As a 28 yrs old, I related to this drama so much. I miss my friends who accompanied me since high school to university. After graduation, we work in different companies. Although in the same city, we are busy and hard to see each other. And some got married, some died at young age. Thinking my youth memories make me happy & longing like in drama. I tried to gather or travel with my friends like Haung Yingzi, but most aren’t free & failed to meet. Ohh…, I want to cry now 😢
So for me, this drama touched me very much. The fist part of 1st episode is a little boring, but since 2nd part of 1st ep, you’ll get roller coaster feelings.
