A year after postponing the release of apocalyptic thriller K-drama Goodbye Earth on the heels of male lead Yoo Ah In‘s drug use scandal, Netflix is now ready to the release the show. The wait could be a boon since female lead Ahn Eun Jin is now one of the biggest breakouts of 2023 thanks to sageuk drama My Dearest. The first stills feature her prominently along with supporting leads Kim Yoon Hye and Jung Sung Woo plus many veterans that are easy to recognize on sight. I still don’t know how Netflix could edit out most or all of Yoo Ah In in the drama since he’s the male lead and still have the story make sense but for the sake of the production team I hope it works so their hard work isn’t for naught.

But is he completely out, or just out of the promo material?
Poor YAI, miss him. He is one of the best actors in Korea. Such a waste of talent.
Ahn Wun Jin is a great actress so I will be watching this
When would Kdrama get tired of this Zombie or apocalyptic theme? I'm pretty fed up already. It used to be only prevalent in K movies and that's why I've never been a K movie fan. Now so many similar plots in K dramaland!!!! Boring and unpleasant!
Same, tbh. I think what's happening is that they think they're pandering to the international viewers. But the truth is, a lot of us international viewers turned to KDramas in the first place because KDramas are different from western shows, and that's what these producers, especially Netflix, seems to be forgetting. If I want to watch unnecessary gore, zombies, and overly “edgy” shows, I'd just watch a western show lol. I'm watching KDramas because of the complex plots, wholesome yet sometimes steamy romantic scenes, diverse genres, and other unique qualities that make KDramas, well, KDramas. Tired of these post-apocalyptic/zombie sh*t 😭
I love action and fantasy genres. But action doesn't necessarily need to see blood and graphic violence to get exciting. There could be depth in plot to inspire viewers. Good examples include Star Wars, Avatar, and the epic legendary classic Lord of the Rings. The last one has made everlasting impacts on fantasy genre on many levels. But some of the Kdramas I tried to watch recently just grossed me out without substance, e.g., Sweet Home and Gyeongseong Creature. I like Park Hyun Sik a lot and his zombie drama Happiness got some positive reviews. Still, I'm not motivated to check it out because of Zombie theme.
I will check this out for the writer of Secret Affair and Heard It Through the Grapevine. Jeon Sung-woo's hair made me LOL.
Hopefully he is only edited out of the promo and not out of the rest. Fantastic actor.
If yoo ah in isn't in the drama, I won't be watching it.
I'm concern about the quality of the show after Yoo Ah In being cut. He is one of the leads after all. I was waiting for this for so long, huhu, My Kim Jin Min PD Nim fighting.
