Yu Zheng Releases New Stills for Period Drama The Double with Wu Jin Yan and Wang Xing Yue with Rumors of a Pending Release
There is word that period mystery romance C-drama The Double may be airing soon, and that producer Yu Zheng has been starting to post more about the drama lends credence. Starring Wu Jin Yan and Wang Xing Yue, the drama finished late last year and is one of Yu Zheng’s pet projects for his own agency stars, pairing up the established Wu Jin Yan with primed for next leveling up Wang Xing Yue. I’m so meh on Wu Jin Yan even if she has a mega hit with Story of Yanxi Palace, I still can’t over that chihuahua meme since her looks don’t appeal to me and her acting feels overtly wide eyed intensity to exhibit emotion. I also want to grab her in the top still and make her stand up straight haha, I know she’s probably playing wan and injured in that scene but her neck angle makes my neck hurt just looking at it. This drama if it airs soon is slated for early summer and after the rumored Joy of Life 2 juggernaut.
Wu jinyan is the female version of Lou yunxi,too skinny,to the point of looking frail,and both looks really good in ancient garb(mesmerizing)

Oh I’m so ready for this. Wang Xing Yue is definitely an actor I can’t wait to truly have his breakthrough moment. He definitely has more than enough time to get there though. He has such a presence on screen, I thought he was much older. Enjoyed him in his supporting roles in Amidst a Snowstorm of Love and Story of Kunning Palace plus his lead roles in Scent of Time and Delicacies Destiny. I hope his drama Shadow Detective with Wu Jia Yi gets to air this year too. Their photoshoot alone has me highly anticipating it. It gave serious In The Mood For Love vibes. Just a month of faves coming back with Joy of Life 2, Jing Boran in Regeneration, and now The Double.
I dont mind her since at least she suits the historical setting. Some actors just look like they were plucked from 2024 and dumped in the wrong millenium. I have seen Wang Xing Yue in exactly one show and he made no impression on me good or bad

WXY always had such presence on screen cos he always looked older than he was. LMAO. Let’s see if this drama will make his expressions look right for his age. I’m fine with WJY although she only had one hit drama so far and all the rest of her dramas were misses to me.
It seems wide eyed stares have become a crime for some viewers. LOL. I recall some K actresses were also dinged for having a pretty wide-eyed look as deer in the headlights. LOL.
I was soo surprised when I found out he was born on 2002. It’s meant he was only 18 when he filmed One and Only. At first I always mixed him up with Cheng Lei, both are good actor with fab presence on screen.
