Zhao Lu Si and William Chan Attend Filming Kickoff for Modern Romance C-drama Love’s Ambition

So the English title is Love’s Ambition for the C-drama adapted from the novel Let Me Shine, and this week filming commenced with leads Zhao Lu Si and William Chan. This pairing is already generating talk both positive and negative as to be expected, it’s hard to be popular without accompanying commentary. I see the second leads are Wan Peng and Tang Xiao Tian, the former I like and the latter is a bit perplexing because he’s also the second male lead in Lu Si’s last drama The Story of Pearl Girl and seemed to pop out of nowhere and seems to have more screen time then expected considering he was on the first drama poster with the two leads. At least Zhao Lu Si has the ability to generate onscreen chemistry with any male lead so I’m looking forward to her continued growth as an actress.

  1. I am so looking forward to this drama. Scheming characters, morally grey situations and ambition oriented (no useless interfering Mothers or MIL’s). ZLS looks so good as always. Whether you love her or don’t, no one can question her ability to act the scenes perfectly.

  3. Why nowadays wan pen plays 2nd lead to other actresses? This girl has soo much potential but unfortunately the fortune hasn’t been with her lately. She’s pretty and talented but it’s not enough.

I like Lusi but not so much with William. Hope they wont put too much makeup on him. He’s good looking and from the synopsis i’ve read, his age is appropriate for this character.

Will give this drama a try when it’s airing. Lusi has big fandom both in a China and international. She’s the female version of XZ or WYB i guess.

    • I was thinking similarly about Wan Peng. I like ZLS, and hope she leaves the cutesy voice behind as her roles age up, but I’d really LOVE to see Wan Peng get a good lead role again

  4. Is the synopsis on Shushengbar correct, because oh boy the plot seems heavy! Talk about another level of “unwanted child”.
