  2. I’m not sure if I’m a fan of the style of either one on the cover here. LOL. Not up my alley.

For Xiao Zhan, his past airport fashion and casual wears while taking strolls or roaming through Chinese cities and European towns are my favorite. He has such an innate sense of artist on casual fashion styles that are always very pleasing to my eyes.

  3. They took such a beautiful woman and made her look like Cruella De Vil minus the white hair. I hope the rest of the pictorial is not like that.

    • Exactly. The styling crew is vicious! They made Dilraba look like a witch! Or Xiao Zhan’s evil young step-mother!

  4. Dilraba is prettier with minimalist makeup… she’s really pretty. the prettiest, i’ll say.

I always like the aura of Xiao Zhan but havent finished anything with him. He always reminds me of some novel characters, currently reading a novel about idol turns actor and actress, i wish he will be casted if there’s any producer decides to make a novel adaptation. lol

anyways, douban rating for LYF s2 is lower than The Princess Royal, with only 6.6.. Shocked. Like, seriously? I mean, from acting to chemistry and plot, LYF s2 is a better drama, despite there’s an issue with CP bla bla, but waaahh… So confused.

  5. Why would you make beautiful Dilraba look like an old witch and handsome ZX a bloodless vampire?!!! These shots should have been deleted.

  6. I do know it’s only me who got a problem with actors not trying hard anymore to be good actors and chasing after fame as models than anything else.
Dilraba is an awfully bad actress.
XZ is very much so so as an actor. He did not convince me yet.
I think once an actor/actress becomes much more important than the character he/she plays, he or she can’t act well anymore. The actor/actress have to be the character. I can’t see the character as a living independent being from the actor or actress. I can only see the celebrity trying to be someone else and failing at it.

    • Well I don’t have any hope for chinese entertainment scene. I have accepted that I will chase for looks only when it comes to chinese actor. Yang yang will still be the most handsome for me despite his lacking acting skill

If it’s acting skills, I go for korean actor. My passion for kdrama has been reignited these days ah

    • I won’t say xz is one of the best actors in Chinese entertainment, but he is definitely improving. He could have chosen to do many variety shows when his popularity is rising, but I don’t think he has done any since 2020, instead he focused on improving his acting by joining theatre for 3 years. I do have high expectations from “Zhanghai Zhuan” and “Legend of Condor Heroes”, and I hope it does well for him.

    • “XZ is very much so so an actor..” LOL. Do you think he got cast for the S+ drama, Legend of Zhanghai, and the movie, Legend of Condor Heroes, for being a fashion model more than an actor? LOL. You sound really comical and the level of ignorance is speechless.

Both directors of the drama and the movie are reputable and respectable masters in the filming industry. They don’t just cast random nugus for their projects. They are known to be very picky about casting and that’s why they have so many acclaimed works under their belts. Both projects were also much sought after by some high-profile actors to compete for the ML roles. I just don’t want to name those names lest their fangirls would be butthurt to launch pile-on over me. LOL. Do ppl think the two famous directors cast XZ only for his handsome looks and popularity? They aren’t shallow like some of those who produced idol dramas. In particular, XZ got cast after going through picky audition for the movie and Director Tsui Hark hand picked him as the ML per his own interview.

XZ has not yet convinced you but obviously he’s already convinced big-name directors like Zheng Xiao Long and Tsui Hark. LOL

Your low appreciation of him as an actor doesn’t mean he isn’t a good actor. What you said is your own preference. That is not equal to the reality.

    • Lmao your crying is amusing.

Xiao Zhan chasing after fame? Girl just say you are an anti and move on. Guy who spent time in theatre for basically nothing monetary because he wanted to improve his acting is chasing after fame with a simple mag cover.

You antis are so dumb it’s painful.

    • Bitterness didn’t comes from a place of neutrality but it comes from a place of jealousy. Let’s hear what you have to say about your real fave, how good of an actor he/she is so we can at least gauge what is your idea of good and so so actor. And don’t randomly pick well established senior actor please, just be honest and name your real favorite and let us see how he fare in acting.

    • @Xiong…you activated the fandom, good luck to you! 😅 While I don’t agree with your assessment of his acting ability, I totally get when a certain piece of media or certain actors, which while beloved by both the critics and the public, still don’t manage to click for your own taste. After all, i think art is a very personal thing.

I also agree when an actor’s celebrity status eclipse their acting ability and how it’s much harder seeing them disappear into the role. An example for me is Robert Downey Jr. I think he’s quite good but nowadays it’s challenging for me to not see his own mannerisms in the different roles he plays.

  7. I read MDZS, Xiao Zhan in the Untamed is basically Wei Wuxian personified? He is the heart and soul of that drama.

    • Yes, he is. That’s why he as WWX is an iconic role in C-ent. Everyone including Arthur Chen’s famous director father knows it and can’t deny it. His stellar performance in the Untamed alone is good enough for me to be his fan.

    • Yes, I loved him as WWX. I also liked him in youth memories and sunshine by my side. Although I don’t have high opinion of the drama, SBMS as a whole, but he was great as sheng yang.

      • Agreed. Youth Memories is a good drama although there were expectedly some propaganda elements in the plot. XZ’s acting was nuanced in all his dramas so far but I only like The Untamed and Youth Memories.

  8. My comment made fans of XZ so mad.
I do not argue with people who are mentally ill and clearly being manipulated and used by celebrities as ammunition.
Another despicable and disgusting thing that celebrities do. Exploration of ill people.

      • Seriously?
You attack me because I go against you as a fan is a symptom of illness. Your idol use and manipulate your illness for his gain. You can’t accept, tolerate, ignore and simply do not care for my comment so that makes you ill just because my comments talks about your idol who owns your mind.

      • @Xiong

Yes. Anyone reads your comments will know there is something wrong with you. You don’t have to like him, but your language is not normal. You should take a break and allow your mind to relax.

    • The only ill person here is you. Did you think people wouldn’t catch on you are an anti?

Go out, touch grass. It’s not normal to hate a person you don’t know. Talk to a psychiatrist about it.
