The summer is over for good now that Labor Day is past and that means a slow down of drama releases but the ones coming seem more serious fare. Tencent is reportedly premiering Love of Nirvana (流水迢迢 Liu Shui Tiao Tiao) next week on September 9th or thereabouts. Starring Allen Ren (Ren Jia Lun), Li Lan Di, and Jeremy Tsui (Xu Zheng Xi), this drama only filmed in Q3 of 2023 so it’s not one of those long on the shelf projects and appears to be airing right on track from its production schedule. I hope its good for the sake of both Allen Ren who is running on a streak of flops from Burning Flames, Twilight, and Thousand Years for You not to mention his The Demon Hunter’s Romance can’t air, and for Jeremy Tsui he may or may not have quit the industry so this is one of the few dramas he has already filmed left to air.
Preview for Love of Nirvana:
The quality seems off with this one based on the trailer… hope it works out for the actors benefit but lately Allen ren and his dramas seem to lack a spark and seems redundantly bland. Maybe I shrug at his dramas because the romance always seems so flat which is always a let down.
Allen should stay away from romance related drama
Does rumours really affect a actor’s reputation? I would said it did not me in regards to Allen Ren… I never have opinion against this actor… some dramas are enjoyable…but I dont watch many of his recent works.
However since the rumours of his betrayer towards his wife, there is no denial, his works went down in value and his investors ran dry…
He is not cancelled but we can see the big change in his popularity.
I am disappointed by the rumours, I find I can no longer watch him on screen. I am disappointed in his image. No denial, but does not mean not guilty. Anyway, his personal life issues has affected his career…
I dont need to know the truth as I really dont care about him. Now his dramas no longer interest me.
Typo and correction: I would say it did for me in regards to Allen Ren. I never had opinions for or against Allen previously. Some of his dramas were enjoyable but I stopped watching his recent shows as his acting is just too boring after a while.
Yes, me too. I couldn’t watch anything with him lately. I have no probs with an actor’s boring acting as long as the script is good but in his case, i lose all my interest in his dramas. And im so glad reading your comments, cuz yes, i feel the same way. Lol
If boring is the only reason, that is fine as if story is good, I will watch but it isn’t…
Looking forward to Jeremy’s scenes, he’s an amazing actor with an agency that didn’t work hard to secure him better scripts nor let him manage to get better ones to polish his craft. Honestly, I’m watching this only because he was casted.
This one seems like a good production but they seemed to focus too much in the promo on the romance. Allen is unfortunately too stiff and I never enjoyed his work.
Li Landi is quite good though, I hope she’d take over the blandness.
I don’t care much about the actors’ private life as long as the acting is good, nobody is perfect but at least their work should be good.
It is Jeremy that makes me want to watch this… he is such a under rated actor…such a shame.

I don’t like Allen Ren’s acting. He has a one note stare. Li Landi is excellent. Jeremy Tsui is hot and since he isn’t lead, perhaps his role won’t be typecasted this time.
I enjoy Li Landi and Jeremy Tsui as well! Have only seen One and Only and Forever and Ever with Allen Ren and he was ok but none of his other projects spark my interest for some reason.
Jeremy Tsui has taken a early retirement…it may be his last few projects to watch. Unsure if or when he will return.
Just sabbatical leave, apparently his father at the time was really sick and he was anxious, hence the terse statement.
I like him back if he wants to..
I really hope this one will be good and they haven’t completely distorted the story to suit the Allen Ren fandom who seem to be more into trivial romance than tense palace politics. The original Pei Yan in the novel with his scheming and political strategies suits Jeremy to a T. Sadly, he has other worries at the moment and his agency are too inept/unwilling to do anything to defend his role. He has nearly disappeared from the latest trailer whereas he featured quite prominently in the production trailer.
As for his recent statement, anyone with a little bit of insider knowledge can clearly see that this was issued under duress. I bet it wasn’t even him writing it because the language is different from his usual style, and the agency issued a statement that sounds strangely similar. After doing him dirty for so many years and wasting his talent in stupid idol dramas they now pretend to be a big happy family. Everyone knows that he wanted to terminate the contract with them and the “retirement” was his way of going on strike until the contract ended because they refused to let him go. Taking advantage of his family situation to coerce him into returning to them really is the lowest of low behaviour. I hope one day they will reap what they sow.
I wish him the best. He is the few actors I follow, in spite of his agency getting him roles that filter him with the worst vampire pancake makeup.
RJL is a terrible actor and then when you put romance on top of that, it is a disaster.
The other two are good but I don’t think they can fix a ML with no charisma, bad acting and at best average looks.
I will never leave ALLEN REN JAILUN side I’ll be by his side forever no matter what enyone say everything about him is interesting an cute his so loveble
You are not “by his side”, what even. Go out, touch some grass.
Had no idea he was going through a scandal in his personal life but his dramas have always been an instant nope for me. I find him so unappealing and unconvincing onscreen.
