Alrighty, there is an actual date now for the reportedly end of November release of supernatural period C-drama The Demon Hunter’s Romance. Mark your calendars for November 26th peeps! Of course having a date leak only means if the hammer comes down the authorities will know when to look but it appears streaming platform iQiyi has been leaking the release to test the waters and so far so good, no hammer of doom yet. The airing of this drama starring Allen Ren and Song Zu Er is also accompanied by industry chatter that she’s been offered the lead in a new drama but she’s turned it down because the pay is much lower. She’s been off the scene for a year and a half and honestly in cutthroat C-ent even a brief break means getting supplanted so I hope she know what’s she’s doing to stage a comeback.

All other leaks are just that. Unsubstantiated talk that has happened about fifty times by now.
When it does release, make sure all eps are out first before committing yourself. Authorities might take it down while airing. Years of experience watching Cdrama.
Allen Ren is really quite fortunate.. His value may have drop at rapid speed since his affair rumours came up. No denial, just clean from discussion online and covered up. I do feel bad for his family if it is true, but his investors are dropping him. His wholesome and good guy image is damaged due to the rumours.
In his last drama, he even have to pay for marketing and promotion for the drama. The drama did not do well as his previous dramas did. It was filmed a while ago.
Now he is saving his image and career by joining a new variety wild camping show. He always has too many scripts to join long term variety show but now, he has time to do so.
He is lucky to have a this shelved drama with Song Zu'er... I am wondering if this drama may just spark a interest in him again. I am looking forward to seeing Song Zu'er...she always hits a spot for me when she acts...her acting appeals to me more then her looks.

I cannot say if this rumours is true or not but it did cause a stir when it was up online. It did affect his value and popularity.
I dont know if he left his agency out of will but he is definitely not acting now. He is currently on a variety/reality show. Lets see how this drama will turn out.
Firstly, these affair rumors have no proof. Second, I haven't heard much waves at weibo's side. I wonder if you got your news from H&R Century Pictures' YXHs. Since he didn't renew his contract with H&R, it makes sense the company may release fake rumors to defame him.
I will just see consequence, and this rumour is covered up...along with Jackson Wang's rumour. Many popular stars have rumours covered up, it is the trick of the trade since beginning. Media companies's bread and butter sells News but they earn the most from hash up cash from agencies. When the news was out, the actress involved was named. But all dealt with very quickly. Allen Ren value dive shortly after.
Anyway, no point getting into discussion what is true or not. I can only say, if it is true, poor family. Allen's career has not ended..he is building it up again.

They managed to pull this off with The Spirealm. If they can pull it off again with this drama, I hope Deng Lun and Ni Ni's Night Wanderer is next.
Night Wanderer and The Prisoner of Beauty are the two C-dramas that I would truly regret seeing shelved forever. At least, there might be hope for the latter, if not for the former.
Hopefully most of these shelved dramas will eventually see the light of day. I'm especially hoping Night Wanderer gets released since Deng Lun and Ni Ni together are one of the best looking pairings I've seen. They look like the match of a classic leading man and classic leading lady with all the chemistry that goes with it. I wish there were more romance dramas featuring mature lead characters regardless of age.
