Kim So Hyun Debuts Chic Shorter Hair Look Paired with Well Tailored Outfit Jetting Off to Milan for Fashion Show — 30 Comments

  1. Kim Sohyun! Missed seeing her on this blog! Congratulations to her for finally making her International Fashion Week debut and in a beautiful city like Milan! She was absolutely stunning at the show. Her stylist and makeup artists delivered everything the fans have wanted for years. Here’s hoping she can get a Global brand ambassadorship and we can see more of her. She fit the brand perfectly and her Vogue Korea video was peak cinema. Please keep that smoky eye makeup coming!

    • For real! Her styling for the fashion show was chef’s kiss! Finally, they dressed her in an outfit that shows off her beautiful proportions and gorgeous figure instead of drowning her in fabric lol

    • I also think the same, i have a soft spot for her but her dramas failed to get my attention . It’s the same for Yoo Seung Ho, Ha Ji won, Shin Hye sun,…Hope that her next project will be the good one .

    • I was about to say the same thing. She has been carrying her recent dramas. I think next project will be costarring with Park Bogum. I look forward to that one.

      • @cahill @Somebody, I agree to the list.. I hope she gets good scripts now. I do adore Park bogum..he is truly a guy with a warm and big heart.

    • I don’t think she doesn’t get good dramas but rather I think KSH prefers simple dramas and scripts which aren’t very challenging. The best role till date is in RWTMR but many people never watched it and most only know her from School 2015. She wanted to enjoy the youthful dramas while she still can so she continues to do dramas that focus on that. She’s barely done romcom but it feels like all her dramas are romcom because every single one has a love triangle. Even her upcoming drama Good Boy has a love triangle with LSY being her ex and PBG having a huge crush on her character. When she hits her 30s she might experiment more but she’ll still always have a love line in her dramas. I think it’s what she and the fans both prefer for her. I bet even a zombie drama with KSH will have a love triangle. It’s just her image.

      • From what I’ve noticed, she has a pattern of accepting heavier dramas (i.e. Ruler: Master of the Mask, River where the Mask, River where the moon rises, etc.) and then following it up with a lighter drama (Radio Romance, Serendipity’s Embrace, etc.). Good Boy seems to be a mix of both tho

      • See KSH has a lot of mediocre dramas in her filmography. In fact apart from School 2015, LFG, Nokdu and River I would say most of her dramas are bland and this is despite enjoying her last two dramas because they were ultimately both forgettable in terms of impact. Not like a lovely runner, business proposal or true beauty which were also super silly romcoms but very enjoyable and impactful. My problem with her light drama are that they are very bland. It’s too calm and has no high tension vibe to it. It’s like eating candy floss and then completely forgetting what it tasted like. I want to see her do high action sageuk dramas or psychological thrillers that physically and mentally push her out of her comfort zone. Unfortunately she’s stuck with the pure love image but what she needs is to not have a single romantic moment or scene in any of her drama for the next 5 years. Let her do risqué roles and bed scenes but without the romance make them thriller instead. She is amazing but woefully typecast at 25 already. She should not have stayed as a to actress she should have gone into movies before the downfall of cinema. Now she’s stuck doing PG 15 dramas for who knows how much longer. Plus Netflix gives her zero opportunities after the painfully bad Love Alarm. She’s stuck in roles that don’t need her talent and she’s stagnating. Not sure how much Good Boy will change that but maybe something different will come from it.

      • @Voa I need her to do something like My Name. Or maybe a female-centric sageuk where she plays the titular role, like Empress Ki. She’s already proven that she can handle action scenes. But maybe Good Boy is a step in the right direction. Baby steps and all that lol

      • @Yuniw A lot of her fans are actually clamoring for her to take female-centric dramas with minimal romance or zero romance instead of romance dramas. I think it’s her management that thinks fans want her to do romance dramas all the time. Her fans are mostly millennials and Gen Zs, so her management probably thinks that these fans always want to see her in love triangles and stuff. If that’s the case, they’re absolutely wrong tho lol

      • Yeah to be honest I’ll be happier seeing her do fashion weeks, endorsements and magazine spreads instead of acting. She needs a break to reinvent herself. She’s a pretty girl and perfect for these events but her acting hasn’t delivered for many years now. She should take a break from being an actress until a good script comes along.

      • @Voa Despite being a fan of KSH, I have to agree with you. I used to be quite obsessed her before but somehow her choosing one mediocre drama after another is really hard to see. I know that she can do much more but somehow she is stuck in love triangle always.

Also, I don’t mind rom com but both her last two dramas were mid. I thought Serendepity’s Embrace will be something better since, her co star is a pretty good actor and even the writer was good but somehow even that drama failed to make any impact. I also felt the production quality was very low. I hope she chooses non romance for some time. I just watched the sneak peak of good boy and they showed very few scenes of her.

In few scenes they showed, it seems like both ML are interested in her. I hope it wont be another love triangle. Good boy have many good actors and even the production quality seems high. I am also optimistic about the writer. Since, the genre is comedy, I hope romance won’t be the center and she has more role than just an object of affection between two male. I really want her to shine in this drama and hope that this won’t be yet another mediocre drama. Sorry for the rant.

      • @Voa Im a big KSH fan but completely agree that she is typecasted. When she was a child actress, she starred in so many different genres from Melo to Sageuk to thrillers and made an impact in all of them. She played an antagonist and was loved in those too. But when she started taking on adult roles, it’s like she decided she’d only do one type: Candy. I don’t know if that’s her agency’s fault however.

I still remember the excitement when she took on Ruler with YSH. Everyone expected amazing things from her and the drama yet it turned out to be a huge disappointment with her character being a terribly written Candy, some preferred the crazy second lead over hers. That was many years ago and she’s still stuck in the same cycle of doing weak female characters who are only on screen for the purpose of being the love interest of the male lead. Or worse, the object of a tug of war between two guys. I thought she carried Love Alarm, and Song Kang was the one who broke out. River where the Moon Rises was thought to be her Empress Ki, but that was a dud too.

As fans, we can all want her to do female centric dramas with no romance but I’m not sure how much of those she’s getting offered these days. I don’t think the choice is entirely up to her or her agency. She’s not getting Hyperknife or Little Women offers so I feel like she needs to take on supporting roles in big productions instead. So many actresses these days do that like AEJ, JMD or NJH. It would improve her acting resume and she might be able to breakout from the rom-com hole she’s in. Honestly, PSH was also in a similar spot when she was KSH’s age and did manage to get out of it so it’s absolutely bound to happen. She is too talented to be stuck in boring rom coms.

      • @Jimmy You’re right about the love triangle in Good Boy. Lee Sangyi and Kim Sohyun are exes and Park Bogum has had a crush on her for years. Her main plot line is the love line with Bogum but she will have some of her own action scenes since she did say during one of the coffee truck reviews that she spent the whole day running in the heat. Still you’re right that most of her scenes revolve around Park Bogum and the genre of this drama was actually changed from action, comedy to action, romance. You can’t have Kim Sohyun and not have any romance or love triangle. That’s an unwritten rule to cast her.

      • if I’m not mistaken, in her post-interview for My Lovely Liar, she mentioned that she does not want to do any romance genre in the near future and wants to explore different genres. Not long after that, she has confirmed her cast in Good Boy (the article says that this drama will be packed with action, youth and comedy), and that shows that she really want to experiment and be open to different genres.

And from the preview of GB, they still inserted romance and love triangle at that..

Hopefully, more offers will come to here after GB and we can see her talent more

  2. She looked so pretty in the milano fashion week. I really liked the hairstyle and makeup but that dress was disappointing. That pointy thing in the breast area was looking so bad

    • The conical bra look is the dress. It’s from the SS 2025 collection which was a tribute to Madonna. Everyone knows how Madonna made the conical bra famous. It’s meant to look like that. All the clothes from the last collection have that conical bra. Personally I think she looked stunning and carried that dress just like a model or high fashion celebrity should. The dress was well fitted and the earrings were a good addition.

      • The dress is gorgeous and that conical shape makes it very 1950s to me, like something Elizabeth Taylor would wear lol. She looked absolutely gorgeous in it! She say next to Ateez’s San and while I’m no delulu shipper, I couldn’t help but marvel at how gorgeous they look together lol. They both look like runway models!

      • I do agree that she looked stunning. Specially her hair and makeup. I just find that kind of bra style comical. Then, again I am not someone who is into fashion so, that might be the reason.

      • @kiwi the pointed bra was a thing in the 50s, it was called something like bullet bra. i think they’re going for a vintage look?

  3. Not to be demanding, but Koala, can you please also post the pics of her appearance at the Milan Fashion week? After years of So Hyun fans asking for better styling for her, we finally got it! She looked FANTASTIC. The dress, her hair, everything about her look was gorgeous. And her aura is no joke!
Here’s to hoping that her being styled beautifully will continue

  4. So beautiful! Second photo is so first love-coded 🥹

(Had to repeat my comment as I meant second pic, not first pic lol)
