Junho Leaves JYP After Contract Expiration and Goes into Free Agency
Yet another sign that kids grow up eventually and turn out in ways not always the first path taken. K-star Junho (Lee Jun Ho) has always been a k-pop idol for me for so long until only the recent few years that I’ve taken him seriously as an actor. But he’s earned it with The Red Sleeve and also many diverse roles like in Good Manager and Confession not to mention delivering the ratings as the classic chaebol heir romantic K-drama male lead in King the Land. It looks like he’s fully committing to that acting route as his longtime contract with JYP Entertainment is expiring and he will not be renewing it, and will go into free agency to seek his next professional home. He’s been with JYP since his debut with 2PM in 2008 and I can’t believe in a few years it’ll be his second full decade in K-ent. I hope he picks the best agency to keep up his acting expansion.
Their contracts are often so long…
I do like him .
Me too!!!! As actor and kpop idol.
Time sure flies, still remember 2PM’s debut , and their CF with SNSD and Yoon Eun hye ( Cass Beer) , Taecyeon in Cinderella’s sister , I do miss Moon Geun Young and Chun Jung Myung …. if i’m not mistaken i read that he was scammed by his long time manager and was going through a hard time . If it’s true , it’s sad , so many celebrities had this kind of issues .
Agency choices from him is vast, he has many of his previous co-stars/seniors and friends that has started their own agency and I feel like some of those would be a good fit for him.
But feel like he would start his own company, one that would specifically cater to his own set of needs in the acting and music side. On the music side, he loves performing and I personally like so of his music, but his discography is lacking. He really needs better producers and better music direction.
On the acting front, i think he has established himself well since TRS, so he probably needs Cashero and Typhoon Trading Company. He is in a much better status in his acting career than his idol/music career.
Junho is forever the most beloved maknae of Kpop idols for me. Although he has an impressive performance in the Red Sleeve, and I’m happy for him to beat many veterans to snatch Baeksang, I’m still not sure if I will look at him as a truly excellent actor as I regard for some other K actors. He was awkward playing an antagonist in Good Manager and very plain in King the Land. Have to be honest with my opinions about his acting even though he’s my fave 2PM member thanks to his musicality and dancing skills. I think he’s still got room to improve acting. His acting career ahead looks very bright though. Leaving JYP should be a good decision cuz he will have more power to control his own career path.
He was not a plain actor, I enjoyed every Character he played. Very Believable. His dancing skills are great. The Corography of the dance routines are the Bland Part. He is capable of Tearing up the stage, if given the opportunity. I love everything he Does. I think he did a wise choice.
Have watched him grown from the awkward teen in 2PM into a suave leading man.
He is loyal to stay so long with the same agency.
I love Junho very much. I wish his coming projects to be successful & for him to choose a great agency or establish his own agency .
He is a very hard working individual
