K-drama Adaptation of Remarried Empress Confirms Main Cast of Shin Mina, Lee Jong Seok, Joo Ji Hoon, and Lee Se Young with Filming to Commence in June 2025
Now I’m more nervous than excited with the confirmation of the cast and the commencement of filming. The K-drama adaptation of webtoon Remarried Empress can be either fun and different or a total hot mess lol. It will air on Disney+ which seems like a match made in heaven what with the royalty theme but of course toss in a boatload of makjang. The main cast is finalized and confirmed with Shin Mina as Empress Navier, the divorced woman with her head held high, and Lee Jong Seok is her romantic interest and second husband Emperor Heinrey. Joo Ji Hoon plays first husband and cheating mccheaterson Emperor Sovieshu, with Lee Se Young probably the juiciest casting as green tea bitch extraordinaire and former slave turned mistress Rashta. Netizens can complain about the casting or not but there must be something about this script and project to put four lead stars in the same orbit.
All decent actors but what about the actual script and production. It all depends how it unfolds on screen. And I have not heard great things about the comic so ? Maybe they will surprise us.
All good actors but I’m so excited to see Lee Se Young in such a juicy role! lol. Wonder if they’ll change the name of the characters tho?
I like to think that all 4 actors love reading webtoons in their spare time and are huge fans of this webtoon. Like how Park Hae-Jin was a fan of Cheese in the Trap. If the production can pull this off, this opens a huge door since there are a lot of great webtoons/manhwa with a faux-European fantasy theme.
Just hope it doesn’t turn out like Bride of Habaek which just took 1% from the manhwa and left out everything that was interesting and unique.
It would be so much more fun, if the male roles were switched. I’d love to see LJS as the antagonist. However, JJH will be great in that role. I prefer his acting style over LJS anyway.
I’m looking forward to both women’ acting. All fringers are crossed that’s this truns out great
JJH is too big for being 2nd lead but he loves challenges, thus im pretty sure he’ll do a great job to portray Mr. Villain.
Clap clap clap Lee Se Young!!! Ms. Villain. I cant wait to see her on screen.
The protagonist couple will be good as well but boring as hell. I’ve read couples of the chapters and couldnt bring myself to continue. Just wasnt my cup of tea.
