Wang Xing Yue and Xiang Han Zhi Encounter Mayhem and Mystery in iQiyi Period Drama The Wanted Detective — 10 Comments

  1. Wang Yingyue is really good on screen. Very good on camera. This drama looks creepy and interesting… Look forward to it.

  2. I’m excited for this one, both are good actors I can watch, and usually one can’t go wrong with investigative dramas, plot-wise.

  3. Looking forward to it. I hope it does well so he can strengthen his footing as a male lead. I think if he can deliver a popular drama as a top billed actor, more solid male centric dramas will come his way. Female centric ones like The Double and Story of Kunning Palace have been great, but he winds up getting far less screen time.

I honestly think he fares better acting opposite female leads who are charismatic with strong screen presence. I think The Double ruined me. It’s just a waste of a comeback to see him in a pairing with weak chemistry. I wish more dramas did screen tests for chemistry before casting the leads. Hoping this upcoming drama does really well because I’d love for Shadow Detective to finally air and be his next drama place holder. He looks amazing with Wu Jia Yi in the In The Mood for Love inspired photoshoot for the drama. I really want to see her get more popularity too. She was an absolute scene stealer in Arsenal Military Academy. She’s an actress that definitely fits the bill of charismatic with screen prescence. I could definitely see WXY and Wu Jia Yi in a modern drama with a pairing like Luo Yunxi and Bai Lu’s characters in Love Is Sweet. When Huangyang Tian Tian reaches her mid twenties, I’d love to see him paired with her too. She’s another actress who has that same spark.
