Well this drama certainly looks better visually than I anticipated. Youku released the first character posters for its currently filming period C-drama Qiao Chu, 翘楚 which is an idiom that means a person of great talent. The drama got more news during the casting phase of leads Chen Du Ling and Zhou Yi Ran for the online fandom fight over billing order and the end result is equally billing between the two. Chen Du Ling looks like a girlboss type again in costume and aura for this drama and if its anything like her role in The Glory she may have found a strong niche for herself. I know C-ent keeps pushing Zhou Yi Ran and he’s not bad I liked him a lot in When I Fly Towards You but there he played a student and looks like a student but making him a strong period male lead adult isn’t working (yet) for me.
