Eerie Tinged Xianxia C-drama Love Beyond the Grave with Dilraba Dilmurat and Chen Fei Yu Release Striking First Teaser
Last weeks Tencent Drama Festival showcased over a dozen to-come C-dramas so it’s taking me awhile to catch up and post about the ones that interest me. I’ll get to it one by one, and the next one that looks good to me is xianxia C-drama Love Beyond the Grave. It’s the first high profile big budget xianxia that doesn’t seem to be vomiting up rainbows and unicorns in color scheme, instead it’s dark, dark, dark. Like a cross between xianxia and A Nightmare Before Christmas, and I love it! But despite being dark in costumes and backdrops the camera grades are not dark in that “can’t see anything” way that annoys me when dramas are filming during night scenes or nightmare-scapes. Leads Dilraba Dilmurat and Chen Fei Yu are still not selling any CP vibes lol but they had an uphill battle to begin with mainly due to him not projecting that imposing General dude aura and energy but at least I am sold initially on the set up – she’s a demon/ghost of the underworld who also seems to be under a curse and he’s her chance to break it, or maybe her 23rd chance considering she’s got 22 former loves in 22 graves to try and scare him off any romance with her haha. The overwhelming and gaudy costumes on her stand up against this world building and she looks very on point here.

Trailer for Love Beyond the Grave:

Dilraba looks great as usual but I’m more interested in her other drama Love on the Turquoise Land, last I heard is that the drama is slated to broadcast this August.
Never watch chen fei yu drama. But I think his age match the ML in the novel as in the early story he’s only 19 towards mid twenties as the story goes. But I agree that it’s hard to imagine the actor as a tough general.
If you’ve never watched him in a historical drama or any drama, how can you judge? I have and I know he will be great as a General even with his young age; he’s very good with authoritative powerful roles and his fighting roles are also believable. He has a commanding attitude.
Watch him in ever night and lighter and princess, soooo good!
If it were a different actor, it would have had a chance. Not with the “living dead” Arthur.
Holy cow. There’s wooden and then there’s Arthur Chen. Is this really the performances they want highlighted from him in the first trailer??? Miles Wei is going to be stealing scenes left and right from this guy. The rest looked far more interesting visually than I thought it would. I’ll at least give it a try.
Her fans were going mad how ugly her costumes was right? In trailer all things she wears looks great with many details tho!
Trailer for both of her upcoming dramas are so good (not sure about the sword and rose as many people won’t be interested in that genre). I’m gonna watch all 3 anyways because of Dilraba.
She looks more imposing than the male lead. For a general … he just does not seem as convincing than her for his character based on the trailer. Like very bland but maybe the drama will show him in a better light towards his acting 🤷🏻♀️. Actress looks great 👍🏻
They look more like brother/sister..
I have not read the novel yet, to keep the suspense. Based on the trailer, it looks good. I will look forward to it.
Wow…it’s about time 🙂 after the ban on lmmortality, Arthur Chen’s fans can enjoy his greatest smirk …hahàaaa…. again.
Imposing general? Doesn’t look like it in the trailer ….more like he”s supressing himself in front of a very sexy demon…hahaaa….rite? 🙂 As for Dilraba, this is her 1st acting bad n sexy..so, l’ll be watching ya . Good luck!
