First Look at jTBC K-drama My Youth as Song Joong Ki and Chun Woo Hee Rekindle First Love Flames
When K-dramas want to do the first love trope, which it does a lot and to mixed results, it definitely delivers on the visual. The sun dappled warm coziness of the first posters for upcoming jTBC romance My Youth is so pretty, and kudos for having the story feature two sets of couples. Song Joong Ki and Chun Woo Hee are the leads playing first loves reunited ten years later with the male lead facing his past as a former successful child actor. We also have Seo Ji Hoon and Lee Joo Myung as the second leads with their own romance arc. The drama is scheduled to air in early September and comes from the screenwriter of Run On and the PD of Yumi’s Cells and Knowing Wife.
Teaser for My Youth:
It has been awhile to see him in this sort of light hearted, what seems like slice of life sort of drama. His recent shows always have suspense or a slight dramatic edge especially his movies. Though who knows it might have something.
Yeah, miss watching SJK in “soft” dramas like this. Will be tuning in for him.
Watching for Seo Ji Hoon. I’ve been his hardcore fan for almost a decade now. I can’t stand it, I hope he breaks through in people’s minds with this drama
Same, even tho I just recently discovered him in My Lovely Liar, where I thought that the female lead had better chemistry with him than with the male lead. He’s definitely the better actor too. I also really like his look, with his soft features and kind-looking eyes. Wonder why he hasn’t blown up yet, maybe this drama will do it lol.
He is in one of my earliest and still favourite ever dramas – Sungkyunkwan Scandal (very much because of him and Yoo Ah In not the main leads) and have really liked some but by no means all, other works of his. Not finished/enjoyed much since Reborn Rich but hope that this is good and will check it out.
