Xu Kai’s Recent Scandal Expands with New Allegation that He Ran an Unlawful Private Gambling Group Out of His Home During Hendian Studios Filming Periods
I….don’t quite know how this will shake out but things just went from not good to really bad for C-actor Xu Kai. This week there are new reveals that allege he operated a private gambling club/ring/group out of his home during the filming periods he was at Hendian Studios. It’s basically a card game with real money stakes but when I say stakes it’s like 8000 yuan or about a grand USD so we’re not talking bookie level betting here. A account revealed it along with text message screenshots and a video where the card table and beer is filmed and a voice that does sound like Xu Kai. If this is true it is illegal in China to gamble and the reportedly the authorities have responded that they are looking into it. Xu Kai’s agency has hired a lawyer who denies the allegations as falsehoods on his behalf. If he did it would be so not shocking that he did poker nights at his house with some low stakes money with his buddies during long filming stretches, but of course it’s not legal in China so that is a problem. Other stars have been cancelled the moment there is a breaking of a law so let’s see if Xu Kai gets a slap on the wrist, gets off, or gets slammed.

Yu Zheng have focus his attention of his new new male star, I wonder if Xu Kai can ride this?
Yz can’t do anything and won’t do anything. xk will be searched and investigated by the authorities. That’s what happens when you have no backing. I want Zhang Zhehan to come back. I finally realized that it won’t happen for that one reason.
If the allegations are false or there’s no concrete proof, yes. Otherwise nope.
Yes, but actually i think the slightest suspicion can lead to cancellation. They don’t always need to be true.
If there’s no concrete proof, the cancellation will be initiated by production teams/investors as they don’t want to take the risk. Cancellation by the authorities only happens if there’s proof of him breaking the law.
Wah..I don’t want Xu Kai to go to jail.
Card games or mahjong between friends and family is not illegal in China if the stakes are low. There are so many cdramas where they’re playing mahjong or card games. So it’s not really a big deal if he was playing with friends unless the gambling stakes were high. If the authorities prosecute him over card games with friends then they’d have to prosecute almost every adult in China lol..
Fire Investigator drama and all others ready should release now before he’s outright banned/put on freeze mode 😭
He can be a fboy all he wants, but this is serious. Things don’t look well.
LOOOL
His fans on Reddit are so weird. It is post after post about how this is just a hate campaign and he has done nothing wrong.
It is so bizarre. Gambling is illegal in China and once it passes certain amounts it is very difficult to get out of it. There is an official investigation into this, it is not some Internet talk. You choose to stan a person who is Chinese, you have to understand he has to abide by Chinese rules.
Nothing beats the dumb international fans of these idols.
Reddit fans are a special kind of delusion and incredibly dumb – I used to think that place was ok but stopped hanging around when they revealed themselves to be no different from kpop fans. The majority are shippers and very immature and won’t hesitate to jump on you for a contrarian view. The funniest part is they act like they are know-it-alls about c-ent when the majority of them can’t even read or speak or understand chinese – hence their liking of crappy mediocre dramas that china doesnt give two shaz about. The majority also act like they are above shipping and are superior to c-netz, but are no different. MDL is no different, flooded with imbeciles who only worship their idols’ looks and nothing else. Had a conversation recently with someone who didn’t think there was any difference between western celeb culture and chinese culture – uh if you think that’s no difference i have a bridge to sell you. the scale and intensity of scandals is on a whole different level. Ignoring that nuance is incredibly stupid.
Many don’t seem to understand that China celebs are held to a different standard in their country, they are expected by their gov to lead clean lives, not be involved in scandal, “take up public resources” and be moral upstanding citizens. This is just how their culture is and to have a living there, they got to abide by it – arguing on Reddit doesn’t change this fact. But dumb intl fans will always stay dumb.
I do think he has consistently pissed someone off – either his investors, or someone higher up. These private things can be kept under wraps but he always has his private life randomly dragged out for all to see – kneeling in public, the weird DV stuff with his ex gf, then this xu lisha thing, now this gambling thing. That pap walk with zhao qing that the xu lisha alluded to was also so staged. the question is why him? he definitely has some things he’s hiding and im thinking thats why he just never leaves YZ’s agency. They prob have dirt on him and he has a deal with them. Only thing is now he seems to have pissed off someone bigger and even his bigmouth boss isn’t saying anything.
He’s a mediocre actor anyway, had alot of potential but nothing lived up to the hype of fuca fuheng in yanxi palace.
Doesn’t it kind of feel like the Russian roulette with how many celebs get knocked out one by one from being celebs in China. Yes they should know better but oddly at times it feels planned and at times very meticulously dropped when a drama or something is going on. I get they need to be disciplined for their actions but it would be nice if it did not obliterate already completed projects. So exhausting how they handle these situations.
Who he offended tho?
From ec gf’s case to gambling?
Which higher-ups?
YZ seems quite nowadays.
