Culinary Period C-drama Yummy Yummy Yummy with Wang Ying Lu and Li Yun Rui to Premiere on Tencent Streaming October 9th
Next up on the October 2025 C-drama premiere calendar is food and time-travel hijinks period drama Yummy Yummy Yummy (Chinese title 宴遇永安 Yan Yu Yong An), which should pray is not so silly its stupid otherwise it’s going to be called Dummy Dummy Dummy instead lol. The drama stars Wang Ying Lu as a daughter of a restaurant owning family with the entire clan time-traveling back to olden times. They decide to open a restaurant to survive and of course use their modern cooking techniques, taste buds, and attitudes to bring fresh flavor to a bunch of ancient period folks. Li Yun Rui is the government official that gets welcomed into the family folk and of course romance with the cute daughter ensues. TBH if not for Li Yun Rui this drama looks so skippable but he brings such a measured and charming performance to everything it should be worth checking out.

I beg to differ, this drama seems like the silly and fun type from the trailer shown. The premise is interesting, whole family time-travelled rather than the usual one person. I’m looking forward to it!
Sometimes some dramas which previously seem silly and we want to skip, but it comes out strong and very entertaining if the execution is right..
I hope this drama is this kind of drama..
And yes..it is because of LYR and recently because of WYL that I would like to take a peek for this drama
How many more productions are going to be wasted on this ridiculous time travel trope?
Most people, especially the generations who grew up with internet and mobile phones, would struggle to go back 100 years in time. Yet those drama characters go back thousands of years and after about five minutes of disorientation, they fit right in. It’s just so irritating!
I really don’t see why scriptwriters suddenly feel unable to write a decent story without resorting to time travel or rebirth. A solid plot with good character development and decent dialogue would surely capture the audience more than these gimmicks that have long lost their novelty effect.
The synopsis alone would be a “perhaps at a later date” response by me.
But I like both MLs, so I’ll give it a try.
Unpopular opinion, this looks fun! I am in the mood for something silly. Not everything has to be a masterpiece.
I agree…I just want to watch a fun and nice drama. I dont care it is time travel storyline or now etc.
Excited for this! Looks cute and charming and I like Wang Ying Lu and Li Yun Rui. The cherry on top is Chang Long – one of my favorite supporting actors.

This is one of the dramas I’m most excited to watch, mainly because the director and screenwriter did such a great job with their previous work.
