TW-actor Wang Da Lu’s Military Service Evasion Case Grows Exponentially as Fellow Actors Bolin Chen and Xiu Jie Kai Arrested for Also Doing the Same
So the scandal with actor Wang Da Lu forging medical records to evade Taiwan’s mandatory military service from this past summer is turning out to be the gift that keeps on giving, that of other male stars doing the same. During his investigation, it came out there was a voice recording where the discussion was on the broker who helped to find the doctors to forge medical records, and in the talk other stars names were mentioned who used said same broker. Police then followed the tip and did some investigating and this week went and arrested four Taiwan stars. Clearly the authorities want to show they are taking this seriously and not giving famous people just a slap on the wrist. Those arrested include actors Bolin Chen and Xiu Jie Kai, and former pop stars of the group ENERGY and Lollipop F. Reportedly both actors have admitted to trying to evade service and will take responsibility. Fellow actor Kun Da is overseas on a work matter but returning to Taiwan asap to also answer summons as he’s also implicated. Lesson reinforced, don’t break the law kids!

If they cheated..they will need to answer to their deed. A big lesson learnt. But I will still watch any enjoyable projects they will have in future.
Their careers to me have been fairly meh though lately and now this might screw them over for a while now career wise. Unless they find a way out of it which won’t help them either way. Bolin Chen already had that marijuana mishap if I’m not mistaken and barely made a comeback. I wonder how much jail time they get for this?

Aren’t these guys in their 40s? The evasions can’t be recent like Darren. I thought Xiu Jie Kai did do military service? Well, obviously the statute of limitations hasn’t run out for them, although I seriously doubt anyone will be going to jail. Probably would get a big fine, but we shall see… Oh! Found this article. Explains a bit more about Xie. He did do military service, but got a desk job assignment due to the (now false) medical exemption.

As long as there is military service there will always be people who try to evade it. I’m reminded of when Song Seong-heon got caught evading nearly 20 years ago. That was a massive scandal but now it seems like no one remembers.
