Court Intrigue Period C-drama Glory with Hou Ming Hao and Gulinazha Premieres December 29th on Hunan TV and Mango TV — 8 Comments

  1. She looks different though. I almost did not recognize her. It’s the nose and lips and many slimmer than I remember her to be? She did well enough in that one historical drama that had a sequel not that long ago. The male lead is on a roll churning so many dramas out this year. Makes me wonder which will do better.

  2. This would normally be a genre I like, but I am not sure for how many episodes I can put up with Gulinazha’s unmoving face and the void look in her eyes. She really is one of the worst actresses in C-drama land, as expressionless as a cardboard cutout! Why on earth is she still cast in lead roles?

  3. After watching the first two episodes of Gulinazha’s latest drama Glory, her performance was satisfactory to me. Right from the opening scene, I honestly had a moment where I thought it was a different actress. There’s something noticeably different in how she carries herself this time.

She might still come across as “wooden” to some viewers, but for me, she gives off a new kind of vibe, presence—more intense, restrained, and quietly charismatic.

It also made me wonder if her earlier one-dimensional performances were less about her acting ability and more about the scripts she was given. Glory seems to finally give her the space to show a different side, and so far, it’s working, at least for me…….

  4. Watching this rather than the other Neo’s drama with Seven. Gulinahza is doing a great job and I don’t feel that she is wooden but I feel this role suits her as she is required to suppress all emotions. Anyway enjoying this so far.

  5. She is still wooden. She forces too much the “tense” acting around her mouth and neck area which makes me focuse on those parts rather than her eyes. Hou Ming Hao will never do it for me in a costume drama. He has been looking even more plastic lately and it always seems like his nose is about to melt.
