Yu Shu Xin Transforms into Elegant Period Lady in First Look at Just Started Filming C-drama Yun Chu Ling
I needed to see this as a palate cleanser. Whatever Yu Shu Xin was giving in her recently aired modern C-drama Speed and Love was so cloying and saccharine of a performance that it felt like sugar shock by midway through. I know she can do different and more similar to her performance in My Journey to You and the first look at her character in just started filming period C-drama Yun Chu Ling (云初令 or Cloud’s First Command) is giving MJtY vibes. She would have been filming the period C-drama A Journey to Glow but for brief scandal towards the end of last year that has since passed so while that drama moved on to another actress she’s doesn’t seem to lack for projects having gotten this one. She’s the only one announced so far for Yun Chu Ling but the male lead will be Zhang Yun Long.
Totally agreed! My Journey to You has been so far the only drama of YSX that I had stomach for her style and acting. Nonetheless, the 2nd FL’s creepy mannerism turned me off to drop that one too. lol. YSX was all over the top in Speed and Love.
YSX always nails costume dramas. LBFAD, MJTY and LGIEF were back to back hits. She never disappoints and YCL sounds badass.

Liked mjty and the Fairy devil drama a lot, thought she was well-suited to the fairy character-they exploited her acting quirks, voice and expressions to the benefit of the drama. Mjty showed that she could move out of that ‘comfort zone’.
Judging by the amount of criticism she’s getting for baby voice, juvenile portrayals, maybe it is wise for her to accept more adult roles and show that she can do mature.
She’s good at romcom/romance drama. But she needs to move from it because she’s better in a heavy serious drama like MJTY or mixed of both like LBFAD
if we are being honest, people remember Loves Ambition more than Speed and Love in 2025
And what is your point in bringing up Love’s Ambition when this entire article is about Esther….
