So this is an unexpected pairing and also a weird story to keep re-doing. Netflix is planning a 2025 sageuk drama titled Scandal based on the 2003 explicit rated K-movie Untold Scandal, which is loosely based on the novel Dangerous Liaisons. In talks for the leads are Son Ye Jin and Ji Chang Wook so quite a mature and big … Continue reading →
Well this is a blast from the past! A good one at that, and I hope she’s back on a more consistent cadence now. K-actress Moon Geun Young made her first public appearance in years as she returns to the small screen this month with the Netflix drama Hellbound 2 in a supporting role. She plays a charismatic and obsessed … Continue reading →
Wow doesn’t begin to process how fast and straight up the ratings are going for tvN Sat-Sun drama Jeongnyeon: The Star is Born. Award winning Kim Tae Ri stars are the titular character and she’s always delivered in ratings and performance wow but this is another level even for her. Episode 4 got 12.726% ratings which triples the 4.844% premiere. … Continue reading →
So with the good reception for K-drama What Comes After Love pairing K-actress Lee Se Young with J-actor Sakaguchi Kentaro, next up may be Jung Hae In heading over to J-dorama land opposite a J-actress. News reports says he’s in talks for a J-dorama and somehow his whole vibe fits it so well. In fact, One Spring Day is basically … Continue reading →
So its midway through October and I don’t see any of the very big budget and high profile K-dramas scheduled for the remainder of the year, other than Squid Game 2 which has been perched in the 2024 holiday season for quite some time. That means anything we’ve been waiting for from the top stars or production teams are likely … Continue reading →
It’s like a one-two punch of good casting news with this upcoming sageuk drama! A day after Kang Tae Oh was announced as the male lead of The Moon Flows Over the River, his female lead has been revealed as likely Kim Se Jung who has received the offer. It’s not one of the two Kims I was thinking about … Continue reading →
I like Kang Tae Oh a lot but the OMFG *&^%#&* aspect of hearing this casting all comes at the very end of the news article. Kang Tae Oh will be starring in the sageuk drama The Moon Flows Over the River as his next project, which is great and all because he was so great in The Tale of … Continue reading →
Oh this sounds cute and a great pairing as well! Since there aren’t as many K-dramas being produced anymore I feel like each project needs to have the best casting ever just to keep me interested beyond just the story which frankly these days in any genre is shades of been there done that. A new romance K-drama is in … Continue reading →
Oooh, it’s getting close to the long wait being over for the return of a highly rated and strongly reviewed K-drama with a new season after 5 years. The Fiery Priest 2 with original leads Kim Nam Gil, Honey Lee, and Kim Sung Kyun released first character posters this week and it’s great to see three top leads back together … Continue reading →
I’ve heard mixed things about Shin Hye Sun and her currently airing K-drama Dear Hyeri but my aversion to her male lead makes me skip unless it’s trending as a seminal work. So I’m extra excited to hear she’s already in talks for her next drama titled Lady Dior and it’s definitely named after the French couture house. She would … Continue reading →
This weekend is the premiere of new Sat-Sun drama Jeongnyeon: The Star Is Born taking over for Love Next Door. It’s adapted from a critically acclaimed webtoon of the same name about a country girl with natural performance talent aspiring to join the all-female traditional theater known as Yeoseong Gukgeuk developed after WWII to for traditional gisaengs to earn a … Continue reading →
I’m so happy to hear news of an upcoming K-drama for Kim Yoo Jung, and it sounds interesting to boot. She’s been offered the female lead in sageuk drama 100 Days of Lies, a drama where she plays Gyeongseong the capital city’s best pickpocket. After getting involved with the independence movement, she goes undercover in the Joseon city government as … Continue reading →
While there aren’t as many K-dramas being produced as before and frankly most are just not that interesting to me, I am fully intending to watch SBS drama The Judge From Hell but just haven’t had the time to start yet. So it’s a relief to hear the drama with strong word of mouth and even better progressively increasing ratings. … Continue reading →
