While there aren’t as many K-dramas being produced as before and frankly most are just not that interesting to me, I am fully intending to watch SBS drama The Judge From Hell but just haven’t had the time to start yet. So it’s a relief to hear the drama with strong word of mouth and even better progressively increasing ratings. … Continue reading →
I guess its not time yet for K-actor Jung Hae In to start afresh when it comes to his representation. Right after his last drama Love Next Door finished airing came news that he was renewing or re signing his contract with long time agency FNC Entertainment. He feels the agency has treated him well and he’s very loyal among … Continue reading →
The experience of watching Love Next Door for me was a frustrating one so having it end this weekend felt like a release of sorts. Now I don’t have to keep waiting each week for the drama to get better as a whole while accepting the little nuggets of satisfying moments and scenes strung between filler. One thing tvN did … Continue reading →
Keeping expectations low is the name of the game for me when it comes to upcoming November K-drama Brewing Love. I enjoy both leads Kim Se Jung and Lee Jong Won but remain easily disappointed with K-drama rom-com plots these days. But then I remember how Kim Se Jung hit it out of the part with A Business Proposal and … Continue reading →
So I totally forgot this movie was filming and also fell off from reading updates on new chapters of the webtoon haha. Life got busy and also NGL the Korean webtoon Omniscient Reader Viewpoint just got too long ala One Piece, but not that long yet. The webtoon got a K-movie adaptation announced two years ago with leads Ahn Hyo … Continue reading →
I haven’t written about tvN weekend drama Love Next Door the last few weeks because I did check out from full watching after the narratively frustrating first half of the drama, and the inconsistent chemistry of leads Jung Hae In and Jung So Min, which to date I can’t figure out if it’s their natural chemistry issue or their acting … Continue reading →
It’s ironic that an article about the decrease in K-drama production and many established stars having a dearth of script offers is followed by news of a rookie landing a big project. Rising young actress Hong Hwa Yeon will be the female lead in SBS drama Treasure Island, with male lead Park Hyung Sik and veteran Heo Joon Ho. She … Continue reading →
Inflation is everywhere and the lack of successful projects and products is true across nearly every industry. K-actress Kim Ha Neul recently was interviewed and shared how she and most stars are seeing a lack of scripts being offered. In the past she would get multiple scripts and even had to turn down projects by saying she needs to take … Continue reading →
Being a Namgoong Min fans since the very early days when he was playing second male leads and villains two decades ago til now feels like a journey that paid off with commitment and resilience. He’s now award winning multiple times and delivers rating wins, and has his pick of scripts. Which is why I keep trusting in whatever next … Continue reading →
So the countryside-city dichotomy K-drama genre is still going strong and now we add a twin element. K-actor Jinyoung (Park Jin Young) is in talks to be the male lead of K-drama Unknown Seoul, which will likely star Park Bo Young as the female lead. She will be playing twins who one lives the city life in Seoul and the … Continue reading →
There is good news coming out of SBS at least for K-drama fans. The network is reportedly going to restart its Mon-Tues timeslot which it has stopped in April 2023 after airing sageuk drama The Secret Romantic Guesthouse. With the success of legal drama Good Partner which aired on the Fri-Sat timeslot, the network is going to invest in more … Continue reading →
Well the IMF crisis in 1997 is now the backup for not one but two high profile K-dramas. The first is Knock Off with Kim Soo Hyun and a veritable clown car of big name actors and actresses alongside him. Now comes Typhoon Company which is in talks with Junho as the lead and is likely a done deal. Junho … Continue reading →
Okay, this set up sounds just like the set up in C-movie Soul Mate which last year got a K-movie adaptation that starred Kim Da Mi. And now she’s in talks for the K-drama A Hundred Memories which is courting Shin Ye Eun for the other female lead. It’s the story of two ladies who work in the bus transit … Continue reading →
