My post on the Japanese tabloid news break about the dating relationship between Hana Yori Dango leads Matsumoto Jun and Inoue Mao made so many people happy on this blog and even brought lurkers out of hiding. That’s the power of HYD nearly 9 years later, unaffected by the lackluster Korean version Boys Before Flowers and surviving the hot mess … Continue reading →
Paging doctor doctor, come save me because I’ve got a bad case of loving you. The more absurd Dr. Stranger gets, the more it works as Park Hoon anchors the five-ring circus in the warm embrace of his kind and caring arms. This drama can also be renamed parents-in-peril as we see a parental figure die or almost die in … Continue reading →
The jTBC Mon-Tues drama Secret Love Affair wrapped up today after raking in the high ratings and near universal warm reception. I handed off the recapping baton to dearest jomo for last week’s episodes since I took up two more newly premiered dramas. The result was like peanut butter meets jelly and the readers the happy bread to sample extra servings … Continue reading →
The long-awaited sequel to Bu Bu Jing Xin has finally finished airing and it’s safe to say the collectively consciousness is going to scrub all traces of Bu Bu Jing Qing from our memories. I left my BBJQ updates hanging once the drama started airing since it was impossible to formulate a coherent sentence when watching episode 1 alone was … Continue reading →
One reason I’m ready to let In a Good Way go on the SETTV Friday night time slot is due to the imminent arrival of the seemingly delightful new drama Love Myself or You starring Liu Yi Hao and Puff Guo of Dream Girls. It’ll be my go-to idol drama since I’m blocking the existence of the SETTV Sunday night drama from … Continue reading →
I’m so loving Dr. Stranger its beyond bizarre. Considering the only two leads I liked were second leads Park Hae Jin and Kang Sora and I was ready to merely endure Lee Jong Seok and Jin Se Yeon, three episodes in and I’m fine if the entire drama is about Park Hoon performing random surgeries and being goofy the rest … Continue reading →
Ugh, so much NO I don’t even know where to start. I’ll begin by saying my yearly “I miss you” to the much too talented for this world and dearly departed Leslie Cheung on the recent 11th anniversary of his passing. Because I still miss him so much, it feels like such a crock of bullshit to hear that HK … Continue reading →
Holy mammasita are these two smoking hot together! The preview video and stills for episode 3 of Dr. Stranger have arrived and it’s whetting my excitement immensely. I can’t help it if the sight of Park Hae Jin and Kang Sora getting hot and heavy in a car leaves me quivering with excitement. I adore those two so even if their … Continue reading →
It’s T-minus one week left of In a Good Way and that means the time is also winding down for cute couples promotions featuring leads Lego Lee and Kirsten Jen. They are still one of the cutest onscreen couples to come out of TW-dramas in a long time, even cuter than last year’s power couple Aaron Yan and Puff Guo from … Continue reading →
Last week was fantastic for a K-drama fan, so many new dramas premiering with many quite watchable. I remember dry spells when nothing beckoned other than lackluster dramas one would watch because nothing else was on. Even if the Spring arrivals have mostly met expectations, that doesn’t mean it’s too early to start looking forward to the Summer fare. My … Continue reading →
This chapter of Lost You Forever is beautiful and bittersweet for all three male leads. Each had a chance with Xiao Yao at some point in their interactions with her and either blew it (Jing), never did anything (Xiang Liu), or can’t do anything (Zhuan Xu). Chapter 26 sticks them all together with her at a wedding and boy is … Continue reading →
http://i1187.photobucket.com/albums/z392/Jomo143/sla14/agony_zpsda96a2b6.png The most puzzling relationship portrayed in this series is between wife Hye Won and her husband Joon Hyung. Why him, Hye Won? Surrounded by many musical and creative people back then, was he the only option? How detached could she have been to enter into this sham of convenience? Maybe the answers don’t matter because nobody ends up in … Continue reading →
There are a myriad of reasons for entertainers to take a sabbatical in their careers, sometimes by necessity such as mandatory military service for the Korean men, or personal reasons, or simply a lack of good projects in the pipeline. I can only chalk up Kim Bum disappearing from the radar for the last six months as a sabbatical due … Continue reading →
