With the recent confirmation that Park Shin Hye‘s TW-drama Hayate the Combat Butler, co-starring George Hu and Tia Li, was getting a premiere date of June 19th on FTV, I’ve been wondering when the promotional materials would start trickling out. I need wait no more – the first three teaser trailers have been released. Yes, I can confirm that Shin … Continue reading →
I wish I had more substantive Lie to Me updates for everyone, but all I’ve got is a haircut to share. It’s better than nothing, right? The male lead in question unveiled the haircut today while filming an upcoming birthday party scene. I have to say he looks so much better with this new do. I guess a new do … Continue reading →
You didn’t think I would plaster the playground with Lie to Me kisses and then shaft the first kiss here, now did you? Best Love (The Greatest Love) is such a romantic drama. It’s not bathed in the romance lingo of fate, destiny, star-crossed lovers, or even mountains of obstacles. I find the pathos light, the stakes high but not insurmountable, but … Continue reading →
Drama gods, what did I do to deserve (or be punished for) the back-to-back-to-back awesome of three dramas in a row? Thank god getting to Best Love means saving the best for last, in terms of the best plot and writing, and also means I can take a break for a couple of days before the insanity repeats itself on … Continue reading →
My dearest drama friend Thundie, who always has the coolest and most creative posts, whispered to me yesterday that she was running a poll on the May K-dramas, asking folks what is their favorite, etc. I told her I’d make a post just to pimp her poll, so click here to vote away to your heart’s content. It looks like … Continue reading →
We’re just two and a half weeks away from the premiere of the TW-drama Material Queen, and this is one drama where every single promo, still, and trailer gets me more excited about it, where initially I had zero interest. Unlike in Autumn’s Concerto, lead actor Vanness Wu gets to showcase his singer roots and grew-up-in-the-US crossover appeal by singing the theme … Continue reading →
Just a word of warning for you guys – for the last 10 minutes of episode 8 of Lie to Me, I just sat there and sobbed. The uncontrollable pain came from deep within, and it’s a sign I’m so invested in Ah Jung and Ki Joon that when either or both of them hurt, I hurt. The spoiler about … Continue reading →
Dui bu qi. Miahne. Gomen. Sorry to all the Drunkeners out there for this later than usual recap. Yes, I do feel bad when I don’t post on my usual schedule. It was a long weekend here in Koalalandia, plus another drama about a pretend marriage exploded in insane shippiness. So perfect, wonderful, reliable Drunken to Love You took a … Continue reading →
The Hong Sisters love to do cameos in their dramas, and there is no shortage of actors made famous in a Hong Sisters drama that is more than happy to come back. Best Love is the ideal drama for celebrity cameos, because its set in the K-ent world. Park Shi Yeon (who did My Girl) has already cameod as an … Continue reading →
WTF?!?! The latest spoiler pics for Lie to Me just dropped, and I almost herniated my disc from the combination of rage and shock. I’m getting some needle and thread, and a certain chick better be ready for her lips sewn shut. If you told me 3 weeks ago I’d be so invested in the OTP, I would have said … Continue reading →
I know it wasn’t a simple kiss that got me going from indifferent to insanely addicted to Lie to Me. Lots of dramas have great kisses, but what is different for me is that the kiss at the end of episode 6 emotionally connected with me. It was akin to watching two people crazy attracted to each other give in … Continue reading →
Yeah, so that thing I said about keeping spoiler pictures below the jump? That’s kinda getting chucked out the window, especially since my new glorious header gives it all away. So go ahead and stare at the Cola Kiss all you want, and then feast on the preview for episode 8 of Lie to Me. I actually woke up early … Continue reading →
Seeing these previews released my angst considerably with respect to Ae Jung. I never thought she would Heart Break simply by what Jin said, but it’s reassuring to see how their story continues to move forward, inspite all attempts by Jin to stop the runaway train that is his heart. Best Love continues to be the best rom-com on the … Continue reading →
