It’s official. I am completely in love with Mary Stayed Out All Night (Marry Me, Mary!). It may not be a drama worth writing home about, but it’s definitely a drama worth spazzing about. I just finished episode 3 (hold your horses, people, the recap is a-coming), but in the meantime, have a written preview of episode 4. The ending … Continue reading →
SETTV held a press conference today for its big-budget idol drama Channel X (the Chinese title is 國民英雄, with the direct translation being Citizen’s Hero). The lead actor and actress made their grand debut, and the world got to see the first stills and teaser trailers for the drama starring Joe Cheng and Amber Kuo.

I won’t even express a single opinion until after the jump so as to not spoil this episode. Please take this with the usual grain of salt. … Continue reading →
Secret Garden premiered today with slightly over 17% in ratings, a solid start for any drama. Ratings mean diddly to me, other than as a barometer of how much viewers in Korea appear to like a drama. Most of the dramas I’ve liked this year have been ratings busts or disappointments (with the exception of Giant). I know many of … Continue reading →
Even though I just recapped the first two episodes of Mary Stayed Out All Night (Marry Me, Mary!), I haven’t really had to chance to let my fangirly self out for a spin around town. My drama friends know that Koala very very well – she squeals a lot, rolls around on the floor in ecstasy over watching an amazing … Continue reading →
This does it. I am now 100 billion percent sure that Kang Ji Hwan should never ever again put on modern clothes in a drama. He belongs in a sageuk, fantasy or traditional. I’m still crying inside about Hong Gil Dong, and now the first grainy footage has leaked out from the set of The Great Doctor (otherwise known as … Continue reading →
This was a pleasant surprise. I found a ton of BTS pictures from the filming of episode 6 Playful Kiss Youtube Special Edition, otherwise known as Dude, What’s With That Car? None of them are crisp and clear, but they are a lovely treat regardless.
Continue reading →Famed screenwriter Kim Eun Sook has so many drama hits under her belt, naturally it would also come with heaps of acting goodwill from the actors who have benefitted from starring in one of her dramas. When Kim Eun Sook filmed On Air, the string of cameos from A-list stars was so long there was actually a list to keep track … Continue reading →
Episode 6 of the Playful Kiss Youtube Special Edition is pretty much impossible to recap. I say it with a straight face, because this was a Korean version of an I Love Lucy episode, replete with an ending that has Lucy and Desi (Ha Ni and Seung Jo) conceding that they enjoyed the mess of a day they had together.
Continue reading →FINALLY!!! After being depressed about the 10 minute trailer for Secret Garden I watched earlier this week (so depressed I didn’t even want to post about it or share it), the bipolar production team went and released the MV for the Baek Ji Young single off the OST. And I’m back on board the SG-train.
Continue reading →Leader is back! Well, technically Leader came back two weeks ago (and I spent an entire day with my twitter feed being inundated with squeals from my drama friends about his return from two years of exile military service), but today he’s really back. Eric literally put on his civilian clothes and walked right into filming for the upcoming marine … Continue reading →
Takeshi Kaneshiro returns to the big screen in 2011 with his follow-up project to the epic and box-office breaking mega-movie Red Cliff. He teams up for his third go around with famed directed Peter Chan (who also directed Takeshi in Perhaps Love and The Warlords) for the upcoming Wuxia, co-starring Donnie Yen, Tang Wei, and lured-out-of-retirement famed actor Wang Yu.
Continue reading →[Edit: I just realized that the song Mu Gyul sang at the playground when Mae Ri was following him around is called “My Precious.”] How did Mary Stayed Out All Night (Marry Me, Mary!) do this to me? Make me dying for Monday to come around, at the expense of not even caring that Secret Garden is premiering this weekend. … Continue reading →
