Thank god that evil pinchy-faced wench from the last episode was shipped back to the US and far far away from our Ha Ni and Seung Jo. I didn’t intend to have my claws out for her in my last recap, since she’s such an insignificant annoyance, but she appeared to have activated the ultra-bitch-smackdown button on my keyboard. Blame my keyboard … Continue reading →
My instantaneous affinity for the Mu Gyul-Mae Ri coupling in Mary Stayed Out All Night (Marry Me, Mary!) has turned into full-blown adoration in episode 2. If the level of inexplicable but wholly natural caring they exhibit towards one another continue to blossom, I will be in so much love with this OTP that I might as well lay in … Continue reading →
Have you ever eaten bon bons? Each episode of the Playful Kiss Youtube Special is like a bite-sized bon bon, you pop it in your mouth and let the flavor and texture explode in a shower of sensory bliss. But then it’s gone as quickly as it arrived. But I treat PK-the-drama as my main course, so I’m totally fine … Continue reading →
Apparently all dem posters of Secret Garden I’ve been plastering all over AKP were not the “official posters.” I sure wish to God they were the official posters, because the ones that just descended for that drama are in one word: Eh? and WTF? Oh wait, that was two non-words, but you get my drift. See that poster above? This … Continue reading →
Mary Stayed Out All Night (Marry Me, Mary! or M3) premiered this Monday on KBS2 with an 8.5% rating. It’s higher than its predecessor Sungkyunkwan Scandal’s first episode, about the same as You’re Beautiful’s first episode, yet probably lower than pundits had hoped for considering the power young couple of Jang Geun Seok plus Moon Geun Young.
Continue reading →Playful Kiss continues to be a fandom that may have slowed down considerably since the drama ended, but never fails to keep chugging along. Some more behind-the-scenes BTS pictures of Kim Hyun Joong from the last days of shooting the Youtube episodes have emerged.
Continue reading →Secret Garden released a bunch of written goodies – most notably a character relationship chart and the episode 1 written preview. I absolutely and positively love the posters above. While Hyun Bin‘s scared girly expressions never get old, Ha Ji Won’s shocked and sneaky expression makes me die a little inside with glee.
Continue reading →I’ve noticed an AKP trend that appears to go like this: a post about Playful Kiss, followed by a post about some other drama or spazzy-subject, followed by another post about PK, and so on and so forth. I guess what I’ve realized is that as much as I DO have varied interests, PK and I clearly have a symbiotic … Continue reading →
The latest teaser trailer is out for Secret Garden – and it presents a very different preview of the drama than all its predecessors. Gone is the slightly melodramatic music, and with it comes a brand new playful vibe for the upcoming body-swap fantasy melodrama. I giggled like a school girl when I watched it. Girly Hyun Bin + butch … Continue reading →
The cast and crew finished shooting the Youtube Special Edition of Playful Kiss yesterday, and today Kim Hyun Joong posted a message on his Korean website.
Continue reading →It’s time for another installment of Pimp That Drama. The first post was months ago, when I pimped out Hotaru no Hikari, and in the interim I simply got swept up into a veritable tidal wave of love for a certain kissy kissy drama. While I write formal reviews for Thundie, a PTD post is not a formal review inasmuch … Continue reading →
Sometimes I wonder if I’m sick of Playful Kiss yet? Hhhhm, the answer is clearly no. But my spirits are flagging, and only a good boat scene or three can revive me again. Until that steam boat arrives at the harbor, have some new PK goodies. The picture above is a newly released official still from the first Youtube episode. … Continue reading →
Taiwan Vogue (which is an exquisite magazine) has partnered up with the upcoming Taipei Flower Festival to showcase the talents of its local flowers (ahem, ladies) as photographed by famed floral and landscape photographer Ninagawa Mika. I hereby present eight lovely ladies of the Taiwan entertainment industry, as photographed by Ninagawa to both complement and accentuate the flowers used as … Continue reading →
