A very happy lunar new year to everyone on this Tuesday February 5, 2019, and what an auspicious day to welcome a new baby to boot. Not myself of course, but married K-acting couple Ji Sung and Lee Bo Young who welcomed the arrival of their second child a little baby boy on the first day of the new lunar … Continue reading →
While the big three networks got roundly walloped last year by the all the cable networks in ratings and critical acclaim, 2019 is a fresh year and who knows if a resurgence is coming. I have solid hopes with MBC Mon-Tues drama Item premiering next week on February 11th, taking a supernatural element fused with a procedural that has been … Continue reading →
I have a feeling 2019 is going to be yet another great career year for Park Min Young, she just has that confidence glow about her and why not considering all things look rosy for her. She’s got a new rom-com drama Her Private Life lined up with none other than Kim Jae Wook as her leading man (hubba hubba), … Continue reading →
There was a one week gap between dramas that gets us into February and also a new lunar year as tvN didn’t air the next Wed-Thurs drama after Encounter (Boyfriend) ended two weeks ago due to last week being busy with lunar new year prep. This Wednesday comes rom-com adapted from a manhwa called Touch Your Heart, starring Lee Dong … Continue reading →
It’s a good visual juxtaposition from super yellow Gong Yoo to mucho red Lee Jun Ki as we check in on the multi-talented star from Taipei this week. The actor-singer was there to rock out at a high energy fan meeting with a nod to the upcoming lunar new year next week by going mostly all red. I love the … Continue reading →
It’s a testament to K-actress Park Shin Hye‘s incredible popularity that a haircut would get written up by every singe major K-ent publication. Her every move is scrutinized and she’s done an amazing job of growing up in the public eye through success and even less than successful acting roles over nearly two decades. Her most recent tvN drama Memories … Continue reading →
K-actor Im Shi Wan may not be discharged from the military until two months later in April but he’s already lined up his first post-army acting project. He’s confirmed for the OCN thriller-mystery drama Other People are Hell (Strangers From Hell) based on the same name webtoon. The illustrations are weird and creepy but I don’t sense this as a … Continue reading →
This is legit the lamest yet sweetly funniest shit I’ve seen in awhile. I can’t deny that a younger and more fervently drama addicted Koala wouldn’t have participated in a like minded activity for a drama I love. Viewers of the jTBC Fri-Sat drama Sky Castle are apparently so peeved about the wholly out of place final episode 20 that … Continue reading →
It’s hard being the most famous commercial star in Japan since every project starring Kimura Takuya is scrutinized for whether it conforms with his past string of successes or a sign that his star is waning with a less than stellar reception. KimuTaku’s dramas nearly double his movie projects his his most recently released detective movie Masquerade Hotel has turned … Continue reading →
The boys are starting to come home! K-ent is reporting that actor Joo Won will be discharged from the military on February 5th, successfully completing his mandatory service. Joo Won was part of the leading men enlistment contingent that left for service in 2017, and during their service period had a chance to perform together whether for military shows and/or … Continue reading →
There’s interesting drama casting news to end the week and hopefully another project to look forward to. Eric and Go Jun Hee are in talks for the June 2019 KBS romance drama titled Perfume. If Eric accepts it will be his first drama in three years since the hit Another Oh Hae Young and also his first since his marriage … Continue reading →
The general consensus with the final episode 20 of jTBC Fri-Sat surprise hit drama Sky Castle was that the viewers will all remember the drama being episodes 1-19. That means episode 20 was such a letdown on what was otherwise a gripping drama that riveted a nation’s attention with each episode increasing in ratings without any slippage. The final episode … Continue reading →
The huge migration home has started for Lunar New Year 2019 and this weekend leading up to the actual New Year Day on Tuesday February 5th will be filled with lots of travel, downtime, and cleaning for most Asian families. The production team of pre-filmed action drama Vagabond released a treat today to celebrate lunar new year, a new filming … Continue reading →
