C-actress Yang Zi is currently on the small screen with her hit C-drama Lost You Forever Part 2 and also has the filmed Tang Dynasty period drama Flourished Peony finished production. Reportedly her long filmed C-drama The Golden Hairpin will get a release in late fall of this year with the AI face swapped new male lead. Now she’s signed on and will start filming a new C-drama that takes her back a decade to her Battle of Changsha days as she’s going to do a drama by the same production company Daylight Pictures. Daylight’s productions are considered top shelf quality including Nirvana in Fire, the Ode to Joy series, The Disguiser, Reset, and many more. The new drama is titled Tree of Life and Yang Zi’s male lead will be veteran leading man Bai Yu. It’s set in the Tibetan Plateau and deals with a local girl who went to the city to get educated and comes back to lift her coal mining family out of poverty, so a real heartwarming tale of success and improvement.
