The third iteration in the Let’s Eat drama universe started with controversy with how it dispatched the leading lady from the second season, and is now ending with controversy for how the leading man is about to depart in real life. Yoon Doo Joon announced rather abruptly that he was leaving for military service on August 24th, basically the end of this week and Let’s Eat 3 just broadcast episodes 11 and 12 earlier this week. The production has announced that the drama will be cut short and end at 14 episodes and said it was all due to Doo Joon, but apparently he told the production he was about to get his enlistment papers and could hie off to military service at anytime and the producers still wanted to do this drama with him. Turns out the drama isn’t as beloved as the first two seasons with the viewers, as well as with middling low ratings so I don’t think there’ll be too much audience sadness at the earlier conclusion. Good luck to Yoon Doo Joon on his enlistment and come back better than ever in two years! Continue reading
