This is the penultimate week of tvN Mon-Tues drama Doom at Your Service (One Day, Destruction Came to My Door) and perhaps there remains more to be said of this fascinating case study of a drama. It was highly anticipated, massively promoted, and then just arrived and left people bewildered and dejected. That’s hard to do. It’s not that bad to lead me to write angry missives about its suckitude, it just doesn’t have a foundation and makes no sense, plus a load of mumbo jumbo bull crap masquerading as pithy observations about terminal illness, the fragility and meaning of life, and the purpose of destruction to balance the world. It’s basically a thesis written by someone fond of hearing own voice. At this point, I would like the fictional world to end since it’s all people can talk, or at least actual death instead of fantasy pretend death and memory loss and magical resets. This drama has no genuine emotional stakes and perhaps that’s it’s biggest flaw.
