It’s almost time to say goodbye to C-drama The Double and I am ready to finish this with a flourish without being sad to let it go. It’s already episode 36 of the run out of 40 episodes and the grand revenge plan has been satisfying along the way and prepped for the grand finale. In some ways, female lead … Continue reading →
If you asked me at the beginning of 2024, I certainly would not have put “loving a Yu Zheng produced C-drama” on my drama bingo. And yet here we are and I am so addicted to The Double it’s not even funny, and it doesn’t have have romance yet through episode 25! More than halfway done and the OTP hasn’t … Continue reading →
There may be a quick reunion between Wang Xing Yue and Lu Yu Xiao after working on just filmed drama together Perfect Match they may do another next. The drama is adapted from the C-novel Liang Chen Mei Jing (良陈美锦) which is a homonym for 良辰美景 which means fine time, beautiful scenery but here the Chen is a last name … Continue reading →
So troll producer Yu Zheng is cackling all the way to the bank right now with his period revenge drama The Double being the buzziest currently airing C-drama in June. I hate to support anything that slime touched but the drama is hella addictive and well made in that low budget but money spent in all the right places way. … Continue reading →
Oh this is so dumb and I hope it doesn’t lead to the remainder of this super entertaining drama getting weird end scenes. The Double has been airing on a fast clip and in just one week exceeded all expectations in terms of viewership and reviews. It’s well made, well acted, and just so darn satisfying to watch the good … Continue reading →
With Joy of Life 2 done it’s time for a lot more C-dramas to premiere. Two that arrived at the tail of JoL2 has two very different outcomes – big budget high expectation Fox Spirit Matchmaker: Red Moon Pact is a dud in every way from acting to chemistry to writing to directing while comparatively lower budget with less well … Continue reading →
So May went with no grippy C-drama for me, I’m not on the Joy of Life train so I can’t watch season 2 without even watching the original, and Fox Spirit Matchmaker: Red Moon Pact was so listless and wan it’s like a match made specifically to sadden me. That means tomorrow’s June 2nd premiere of period revenge C-drama The … Continue reading →
The entire month of May felt interminably long and yet also wild that it’s near the end. This weekend stars June and on Sunday the 2nd we will see another big C-drama arrive in The Double. Produced by love him-hate him troll extraordinaire Yu Zheng and starring Wu Jing Yan and Wang Xing Yue, from the latest preview and all … Continue reading →
Looks like the plan to steer clear of juggernaut Joy of Life 2 is about a two week span from its premiere date of May 16th. I’m seeing first Fox Spirit Matchmaker: Red Moon Pact scheduled for end of May release and now the Yu Zheng produced period drama The Double also slotting its airing for the end of the … Continue reading →
I’m not terribly picky with my drama posters especially the early stage ones that much effort hasn’t been made on it yet. But these for the kick off filming of period wuxia C-drama Calming Waves is just sooooo bad it’s embarrassing for the cast. The drama stars Wang Xing Yue and Xiang Han Zhi, with both having other finished period … Continue reading →
There is word that period mystery romance C-drama The Double may be airing soon, and that producer Yu Zheng has been starting to post more about the drama lends credence. Starring Wu Jin Yan and Wang Xing Yue, the drama finished late last year and is one of Yu Zheng’s pet projects for his own agency stars, pairing up the … Continue reading →
The currently filming C-drama Perfect Match has released a pretty concept poster rendered like an old Chinese brush painting of a cityscape complete with socializing gentle folk. While I loathe to watch a Yu Zheng produced drama I do like leads Wang Xing Yue and Lu Yu Xiao not to mention the Pride and Prejudice get five sisters married hijinks … Continue reading →
OMG, this is like baaaaaad even for Yu Zheng level shenanigans. Filming has kicked off for Perfect Match, a 5 couple drama about a mom trying to marrying off her 5 daughters in one Northern Song dynasty family and their respective 5 actors playing their beaus. It’s basically Yu Zheng taking Pride and Prejudice and knocking off the premise set … Continue reading →
